Our team interviewed school admins, parents, and students themselves to bring you the latest info on these institutions.

Kellett School offers a broad English National Curriculum education. They follow a British international school framework, giving students a clear path from primary to sixth form.
We loved that the school invests in state-of-the-art facilities and well-rounded programmes. Key options include expressive arts, music, and sports.
In terms of reputation, their global profile is strong. The institution has been repeatedly named among the Top 150 private schools in the world and in the China-Hong Kong region.
The student body is also diverse, with over 40 nationalities represented.
When it comes to fees, it’s no surprise that they’re on the higher end. On the bright side, we do appreciate that they’re transparent, with details of debenture and association fees properly broken down.
The school is best known for its enriching learning environment. This inspires a high demand among parents and learners, so waiting lists are to be expected.
Admission is competitive, although it’s natural for high-performing students to be prioritized during applications.

West Island School follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP).
They offer a comprehensive pathway to higher education, where students receive continuous career guidance. For instance, there are dedicated counselors and Post-16 tutors to help prepare for top global universities.
Speaking of which, their university outcomes are exceptional. WIS graduates consistently earn placements at prestigious universities such as Oxford and St. Andrews.
Beyond academics, they also impressed us with their holistic education. Rich programmes include Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), Horizons Week, and Interdisciplinary Learning.
Compared to local schools, though, WIS’s fees are relatively higher. Academic expectations are also high, which can potentially be stressful for some students.
On the good side, the school has facilities and resources to support solid learning. They have advanced science labs, creative arts spaces, and athletic areas.
Students also receive individualized guidance and mentoring. This is ideal for students pursuing demanding university tracks through the Most Competitive Pathway Program (MCP).

We liked Concordia International School for its technology-led learning environment. This makes them a solid choice for digital literacy and innovation across all grade levels.
Interestingly, they also follow a Christian-based value system, enabling students to pursue moral and personal growth through learning.
The academic pathway is comprehensive. The curriculum design was holistic, combining rigorous core subjects, such as mathematics, science, and English, with creative modules.
They also won us in terms of international education readiness. This is largely due to their personalized academic preparation for the PSAT, SAT, and TOEFL exams.
Class sizes are small, so individualized support is to be expected. In general, teachers shared with us that they focus on enquiry-based teaching to encourage independent learning.
For applications, however, the application fee ($1,000) is non-refundable. There’s limited information on financial aid options too, which can deter some families.
Fortunately, the families we spoke with said that the fees are competitive and they feel that they get the full value out of their money.

Wah Yan College stood out to us for its rich Jesuit heritage, offering over a century of excellent education. Values are rooted in compassion, service, and intellectual growth.
WYHK also implements the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, which is a teaching philosophy emphasizing reflection, experience, and action.
We liked the school’s use of English as the Medium of Instruction (EMI). According to the students, this helped them communicate confidently in academic and international contexts.
The range of initiatives and programmes was also impressive. One of these includes Innovation, Design, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Algorithm (IDEEA).
This is a school initiative that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving.
Compared to international schools, however, there is a limited focus on purely technical and vocational education. The religious framework may also not appeal to all families.
That said, we still find the supportive and inclusive school culture valuable. Plus, they emphasize Self-Directed Learning (SDL), which helps students build lifelong learning habits.
5. Ying Wa Girls’ School

YWGS has a long-standing legacy of Christian-based, all-round education. They’re known in the city for fostering moral, intellectual, and social growth.
We liked that school’s newly redeveloped Robinson Road campus. This one offers a modern and spacious learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art tech for e-learning experiences.
The school follows a balanced and rigorous curriculum, covering languages, sciences, and arts. Physical education and religious studies are also covered.
As an English Medium Instruction (EMI) school, we find it valuable that they ensure students develop biliteracy (Chinese and English).
They also ensure trilingualism by including Putonghua, a standard form of modern Chinese.
Our team also loves their emphasis on global exposure. They offer cultural exchange programs, study tours, and international collaborations through the Li Chong Yuet Ming Student Development Fund.
The only downside is that there’s limited flexibility for students preferring alternative or vocational pathways. The Christian-centered values may also not align with all family beliefs.
