The 5 Best Prenatal and Postnatal Care Centers in Hong Kong Parents Trust Most

Quality of Medical Expertise: We evaluated the qualifications and experience of the medical team, including obstetricians, midwives, and pediatricians. We checked if they were accredited and had training in prenatal and postnatal care. Range of Services: We looked into the range of services at each clinic, particularly looking for pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal recovery services. We prioritized clinics that offer integrated services under one roof. Facility and Environment: We assessed the cleanliness, comfort, and overall atmosphere of the facilities. We looked for spaces that felt welcoming, calming, and supportive for expecting and new mothers. Personalized Care Approach: We looked into how well the centers tailored their care to individual needs. We looked for customized birth plans, one-on-one consultations, and in-depth communication for updates. Value for Money: We compared the cost of services relative to the quality and scope of care provided. We assessed package inclusions, payment flexibility, and transparency in pricing.

When my mom was pregnant with my second brother, she thought she had everything under control.

The hospital bags were ready, with a stash of pineapple buns to survive late-night cravings. And yet, nothing – nothing – had prepared her for how overwhelming it all felt.

Between check-ups and sleepless nights, she realized one thing: good prenatal and postnatal care is priceless. It’s a must nowadays for busy moms. “You can’t do without it!” were my mom’s exact words.

Every family deserves a strong start and sanity. We’ve rounded up the best prenatal and postnatal care centers in HK so we can make your journey just a little bit smoother.

How much does prenatal and postnatal care cost in Hong Kong?

The average cost of prenatal and postnatal care in Hong Kong ranges from $20,000 to over $100,000 in private facilities, with luxury confinement centers costing more.

The Family Zone wins when it comes to convenience and flexibility. The center offers private in-home consultations, as well as group sessions at their location.

Sessions cover a wide range of areas, including child preparation, newborn care, and postnatal well-being. In particular, clients loved how easily they could reach out for questions and discussions, which makes the approach feel personalized.

If there’s an offering we like, it’s their fast-track antenatal course, which is available in three 2-hour sessions. The prices are transparent, and it’s a great choice for mothers who only need the basics of prenatal care.

As for postnatal services, we liked their 5-visit home package. It includes lactation support, baby feeding guidance, and maternal recovery checkups. This is particularly valuable for first-time parents who prefer not to hire a nanny during the newborn years.

Finally, we appreciate the workshops that make the overall offerings feel worth the investment. Some examples include dad empowerment workshops and domestic helper infant care.

Unless you’ve connected with them in the past, though, booking their popular antenatal sessions can be a challenge. We recommend calling for a spot several weeks in advance.

Pros

  • Comprehensive services
  • Group of private in-home sessions
  • Fast-track courses available
  • Ample opportunity for discussions
  • Culturally relevant advice for local parents
  • Lactation support included
  • Packages are valid for 6 months from the first visit
  • Wide range of workshops available
  • Arranges meet-ups for social support
  • Transparent pricing
  • Online consultations available

Cons

  • Popular classes fill up quickly
  • Availability isn’t always guaranteed

Knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive

“I was looking online for some prenatal classes that my husband and I could take before baby’s arrival and I stumbled upon The Family Zone. I noticed they were offering a package which included many of the things I was looking for (prenatal classes, breastfeeding workshop, first aid / CPR course, a helper’s course AND 3x midwife/lactation visits after delivery). Overall, I was very satisfied with the courses we took and we learned a lot in a short amount of time. Michelle is very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive!”

Incredibly professional and supportive

“I had a great experience with The Family Zone. My husband and I attended the Fast Track Antenatal course with Michelle, who was incredibly professional, supportive, and knowledgeable! Prior to the course, we went in with limited knowledge or resources and the 3 week course was exactly what we needed to feel much more prepared. Highly recommended for all new expecting parents!”

Tin Yan is the ideal choice for parents who love a great, comforting environment. Their 1,000 square feet accommodation offers a pleasant view of the city, where mothers often spend time resting.

Here, the center provides 4 daily servings of light yet nutritional dishes. We appreciate that there’s enough rice and protein to maintain energy, as this is essential for breastfeeding.

Plus, if the mother didn’t like the dish, the staff would promptly make adjustments.

Their confinement care is a standout offering to us, considering it takes all the hard work away from the parents. The centre’s nanny team arranges breastfeeding schedules, baby bathing, and tummy time with the newborns.

Medical and wellness support is also solid. For instance, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners monitor each mother’s condition and adjust herbal tea substitutes accordingly.

Nurses also conduct daily rounds and provide consistent follow-ups to mothers for any changes.

The setup may not be ideal for all mothers, though, and the limited meal variety may be a deal breaker for some. Nonetheless, we find no serious drawbacks in service quality that may affect the experience.

Pros

  • Spacious 1,000 sq ft accommodation
  • Provides city views
  • Rooms equipped for mom and infant needs
  • 4 nutritious meals daily
  • Prompt meal adjustments
  • Proactive confinement nanny service
  • Automatic scheduling for all baby needs
  • Traditional Chinese medicine check-ups
  • Daily nurse rounds
  • Consistent medical follow-ups

Cons

  • Setup is not suitable for all needs
  • Limited meal variety

Comprehensive and meticulous care

“Selecting a confinement center is a multi-dimensional comparison process. Due to the limited space in Hong Kong, almost all confinement centers rent rooms in hotels or apartments. After many comparisons and on-site inspections, we chose Tian’en to accompany our confinement because of the quality of Shangri-La Hotel and the excellent confinement nanny team. The actual experience is indeed worthy of the name: 1) The service quality of the five-star hotel throughout the entire confinement process, business car transfers, three meals at Shang Palace, and first-line sea views of Victoria Harbor all gave mothers the greatest degree of relaxation and enjoyment; 2) Gold Medal Confinement Accompanying Sister, we were lucky enough to receive the 1-on-1 service of Gold Medal Confinement Accompanying Sister Yu Sister Yu is experienced and enthusiastic, and she gave us all-round parenting guidance and confinement care, which greatly relieved the anxiety of new parents; 3) Comprehensive services, not only confinement nanny, we also received high-frequency medical rounds and maternity care services here, and we really felt comprehensive and meticulous care.

We loved Momsy as they offer thorough support for expectant mothers through regular check-ups, ultrasounds, and personalized health plans. Services address both medical and emotional needs, which we highly favor.

Their team of professionals is notable. To provide comprehensive offerings, they have certified nurses, midwives, and lactation consultants. There are also pediatric specialists.

The postnatal care is comprehensive, offering support for mothers in recovery with lactation and overall well-being. The guidance for newborn care is done in a personalized manner based on the mother’s current medical situation.

They also offer courses that we think will help most moms during their journey. Some of these include baby first aid classes and breastfeeding education courses. Lessons are always practical, and clients told us how helpful the tips had been.

We only wish for a few conveniences that make other centers stand out: easy online booking and better accessibility. These don’t directly affect their offerings, but these options would’ve taken things to the next level.

Pros

  • Thorough prenatal checkups and monitoring
  • Personalized health plans
  • Support for medical and emotional needs
  • Comprehensive postnatal recovery care
  • Professional medical monitoring
  • Certified and experienced team
  • Offers helpful courses
  • Quite private rooms available
  • Clear and transparent pricing

Cons

  • No online booking option
  • Limited information on packages

Extremely experienced and knowledgeable

“Momsy is hands down the most professional, trustworthy pre/post-natal services provider in Hong Kong. Amber is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. I’ve learnt so much from her baby first aid class & breastfeeding education course. These classes equip new moms in such a practical way and help them feel confident about taking care of their newborn. So empowering and touched by her passion as well! Strongly recommended!”

Looking into Bump & Co, we can say that they have one of the most comprehensive and socially engaging antenatal programs in Hong Kong. And considering the fair rates, we think they’re a solid investment.

Their flagship course is a 6-week program, with sessions lasting 2 hours each. This covers everything from pregnancy health and labor preparation to newborn care and postnatal recovery.

Most parents told us that they loved the structure as it allowed them to learn in manageable segments.

One of their strongest aspects is their expert-led approach. Sessions are facilitated by midwives and experienced mothers. Specialists in lactation, pediatric care, and postnatal well-being are also present.

Their ability to communicate topics well resonated with most moms.

Another highlight is their coverage of local context. Beyond universal pregnancy advice, the program offers practical tips. They help navigate Hong Kong hospitals, understand maternity leave policies, and integrate cultural practices.

The only drawback is the limited availability. Due to small class sizes, spots fill quickly. The advantage is that the session maintains intimacy, but it may need solid planning to book well in advance.

Pros

  • Comprehensive program
  • Covers a wide range of areas
  • Solid team of specialists
  • Strong social component
  • Relaxed, homey class setting
  • Ideal for first-time parents and expats
  • Guidance on leave policies and local cultural practices
  • Provides on-going post-course support
  • Focuses on practical tips

Cons

  • Limited spots
  • No fully online option

A great support throughout

“The sessions with bump and co have been so informative and incredibly useful. I loved the social side to the classes and the opportunity to ask as many questions. Claire was so knowledgeable and a great support throughout! So glad we did bump! Thank you!”

Miris Mama stood out to us as one of the most comprehensive wellness centers. We liked that their services are organized into 3 core stages: pre-pregnancy conditioning, pregnancy massage and care, and postpartum recovery.

For the pre-pregnancy phases, we like their Chinese Wenmoxibuston Preconception Care Combination. At only $298, it offers great value through solid offerings like belly median massage and abdominal moxibustion.

Postnatal care was equally thorough. We liked the inclusions, which involve pelvic examination and targeted orthostatic reduction. These address pubic bone separation, which helps with having a more comfortable labor.

There are branches in various locations, and all of them are well-maintained, with private and relaxing treatment rooms. Even better, they offer the ability to book and pay online for ultimate convenience.

Just take note that their appointment policy is strict – no walk-ins are accepted, and all discounted packages must be completed within 90 days. This could be inconvenient for mothers with unpredictable schedules, so take note.

Pros

  • Coves 3 care stages
  • Transparent and fair fees
  • Focus on ovulation improvement
  • Offers massages
  • Offers postpartum pelvic examination
  • Relaxing, private treatment rooms in all branches
  • Ability to book and pay online
  • Discounts offered frequently
  • Offers pain relief therapies

Cons

  • Strict appointment policies
  • Limited capacities

Nice and professional services
