D’Deck in DB Plaza is one of the first spots you can explore after the ferry ride.
It provides the best seats for a visual and culinary experience in Discovery Bay. This waterfront spot offers a stunning 180-degree sea view, making it an excellent place to unwind and soak up the atmosphere.
With a diverse range of bars and restaurants serving everything from Italian, Korean, and Japanese cuisine, you can also spend the day trying different treats while enjoying the stunning scenery.

Bring the kiddos to Tai Pak Beach

Location: Discovery Bay Rd, Lantau Island
Tai Pak Beach is perhaps the most iconic landmark of Discovery Bay. This is the first-ever
man-made beach in Hong Kong, and it showcases 400 meters of fine sandy beach.
Unlike the usual rocky public beaches in the city, Tai Pak Beach’s sand is easy on the feet. You can enjoy a barefoot stroll without worrying about stubbing your toes.
Plus, it’s also home to the largest beach playground in the city. The kiddos will have a field day running around and playing on different slides, swings, and other play features.
Pro tip:
Adults can join in the fun too! Tai Pak Beach features play zones with a rope bridge, a mini zipline, and various climbing frames and obstacles.
Explore the scenic route of Lo Fu Tau Country Trail

Location: Northeast of Lantau Island
Hiking distance: 10 kilometers
Elevation: 1,525 feet
Lo Fu Tau Country Trail is a scenic route to explore Discovery Bay. This hill is also called the Tiger’s Head because a huge stone on its summit resembles the shape of (you guess it…) a tiger’s head.
We don’t recommend this hike for beginners because it’s steep, and the terrain is rugged and rocky. For intermediate and expert hikers, though, this route is a challenging and fun hike to accomplish.
If you add stops for water breaks and photo-ops, you can finish this hike in around four hours or less. At the top of the hill, you can marvel at the sweeping views of Discovery Bay, vast grass fields, and parts of Lantau Island!
Pro tip: Visit around December. The Lo Fu Tao Trail will be covered in vibrant autumn leaves around this time.
