The 5 Best Places for Bowling in Hong Kong to Score a Strike
Bowling is a great way to pass the time, but where you play makes all the difference. Some alleys are plagued with glitchy scoreboards, poorly maintained lanes, or even the lack of shoe rentals.
After years of playing around the city, my friends and I feel like we’ve seen it all. We’ve had our fair share of disappointing games, but we’ve also found a few spots that completely won us over.
Over the past few weeks, we revisited our favorites to narrow things down to the absolute best. If you’re also thinking of bowling in Hong Kong, here are the top alleys we’d happily recommend!

Scaa Bowling Centre is one of the largest bowling alleys in Hong Kong, boasting an impressive 60 lanes split across two zones. No wonder it’s a go-to spot for serious bowlers and families alike.
We liked that we didn’t have to wait long, even on Saturday. The computerized scoring is spot-on too, so there’s no need to argue over totals.
The full sound system also keeps the energy up during league nights and tournaments. One regular who comes here specifically for the international-standard lanes praised not just the smooth surface but also the way tournaments are organized.
We found Scaa Bowling Centre a great option for families looking for a place to bond. The alley has bumper lanes that make it easier for children to feel included in the game and get higher scores.
The prices are reasonable for the location too, and the shoe rentals are usually clean.
Our only gripe? People have to become members to bowl here, which can be a hassle for casual visitors or tourists.
This is so beautiful place to chill out and relax

Perfect spot for bowling in city centre
“Perfect spot for bowling in city centre! Lanes are refurbished with bars and restaurants nearby, be aware that you must become a member before you can enjoy bowling there (around HKD200 per year for an adult membership). Prices are reasonable and should be the only spot to play bowling in HK island!”

Mei Foo Indoor Lawn Bowls Centre offers a refreshing alternative for bowlers who want something different than the usual fast-paced bowling alley.
Here, they trade in the wooden lanes and crashing pins for a smooth indoor green and the challenge of rolling bowls towards a target ball (the jack).
What we really appreciate about Mei Foo is how people can easily reserve a spot for practice, either online or at the centre.
However, there is a membership requirement for booking. The online payment process after reserving also takes about a day to be confirmed.
That aside, they allow people to book up to 4 hours of gameplay time. We booked a one-hour session and liked how well-maintained the indoor lawns were.
The atmosphere was welcoming, and no one rushed us through our game.
One regular also praised the staff for being helpful, especially with first-timers. During our visit, the staff gave us helpful tips to help us have a more strategic approach to bowling overall.

Thunderbowl earned its spot on our list for its blend of competition-ready facilities and a good community feel.
We were impressed by the 22 fiber lanes, which were in good shape and ready for both casual games and serious tournaments.
The VIP lounge and fluorescent lanes are a big hit for those looking for a bit of exclusivity, and the private space is perfect for parties.
One regular, who’s been competing here for years, explained how the staff go out of their way to help organize events. They’ve helped organize all sorts of events, from school bowling days to Tuesday-to-Thursday tournaments.
We liked their attached bowling equipment store too. It makes it easy to upgrade gears without leaving the premises.
On the downside, the morning discount ($180/hour) is tough to take advantage of. We think 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. isn’t exactly prime time for most people.
Another thing we aren’t too crazy about is how the shoe rent is charged separately, $15 per pair for adults and $10 per pair for students.
Easy access to transportation
“my first time to play in this place..great moments with my friends..easy access to transportation mtr bus & cab..”

We found Dacos Bowling perfect for students, seniors, and anyone looking for a flexible, low-commitment game. The hourly and per-game charges are clear and affordable.
Many of the students we talked to shared that they love coming here because the games start at $20, which is well within their budget.
We also appreciated that there’s no pressure to sign up for a membership or book in advance. We walked in and were able to secure a lane for a quick game.
The bowling lanes and scoreboards worked smoothly, without any glitches or malfunctions.
However, we do think the place could be a bit more updated, as they didn’t have many refreshments. We got hungry during our game and weren’t too thrilled with their unappetizing menu choices.
Still, the atmosphere is laid-back, which makes it easy for first-timers to relax.
One woman we spoke to told us the staff don’t hover around, which we also noticed. But if they do see someone bowling with incorrect form, they are quick to offer tips on proper form.
Economical and cool place to have fun

Belair Bowling Centre is tucked away inside Belair Gardens in Sha Tin. The place has a welcoming, family-friendly energy that hit us the moment we stepped in.
When we went, a few parents were teaching their kids how to bowl, and other people were chilling with their friends.
There are 28 lanes, four with bumpers, which makes it especially popular with families and new bowlers. One mom told us her son had his birthday party here, and the bumper lanes made it easy for the children to have a fun time.
Prices are reasonable too. Walk-ins cost $37 per game during the week and $47 on weekends.
While we liked being able to walk in and play a game, we did have to wait at least an hour for a lane to be available. We learned that members can avoid the wait by booking lanes in advance.
That said, we still had a great time here during our bowling session. The pool tables and their budget-friendly cafe with tasty snacks added to the overall experience.
This is a really fun bowling place
“This is a really fun bowling place that’s right next to a bus stop – easy access, and with the river in view! $76 package for 2 games, shoes and a snack with a drink. No membership required! We went on a Thursday afternoon/evening. It was pretty full, but there were a couple lanes open thankfully. It started filling up more during the evening. A lot of young people in a really fun environment. Recommended!”

Pretty good service overall
“28 lanes and 3 billiard tables. There is also a tuck shop. Pretty good service overall. Very crowded during holidays but still had fun, visited again on weekdays and much less crowded. Reasonable prices especially in weekdays. There is also a student discount as far as I know. Would definitely come again.”
