Pros
- 104,000+ pre-screened businesses
- Investors from 900+ industries
- Network of over 3,000 investors
- Access to business in 170+ countries
- Streamlined match-making approach
- Businesses showcased on the website for sale
- Efficient connections with investors
Cons
- Buyer support might not be as comprehensive
- Fees aren’t clearly stated upfront
We’ve had the opportunity to dive into Smergers, which is an exclusively worldwide online business broker platform. And we must say, exploring their streamlined approach felt so much easier than we expected.
Businesses are showcased through their website for sale for easy access and sorting. Their connections are also made with a vast network of over 3,000 investors – almost like a digital marketing space.
A fair bit of this does require you to exercise your own savvy when selecting, though. So, if you’re on the lookout for a broker offering comprehensive buyer support, you might want to explore other options.
Another gripe we had was that they don’t really lay out their fees upfront, which can be a bit off-putting. And to add to that, they don’t have a physical office in Hong Kong – a concern, as some people still want that traditional face-to-face meetup when doing business.
Still, their high-tech, modern approach will be attractive to younger or more tech-savvy customers, we think. It’s hard to discount them due to that – they were actually among the most-often-mentioned suggestions we got in our initial polls.

Pros
- Seamless online platform
- Virtual communication option
- User-friendly website
- Solid right terms of transfer process
- Strong familiarity with HK’s business landscape
Cons
- Not based in Hong Kong
- Communication may fall short at times
Asia Business Brokers Hong Kong won us over with their seamless online platform, despite being primarily based in Thailand. This means you can expect to communicate with your broker virtually, making the process of buying or selling a business even more convenient.
We found their website to be incredibly user-friendly, with comprehensive options for clients interested in buying or selling businesses. This also includes investments or commercial land in Hong Kong and across Asia.
That said, the firm is also plugged into a vast web of connections spanning across Asia. So, if that’s your target of expansion, you may want to look here first.
Another thing that stood out to us is their commitment to ensuring the right terms of transfer for clients. In fact, we reached out to some of their previous clients who shared positive experiences regarding successful transactions.
And so we think it’s worth noting that, despite being based overseas, they maintain a strong presence and familiarity with Hong Kong’s business landscape. They offer valuable insights and support to clients navigating the market.
However, there have been instances where communication with clients fell short, leaving clients uncertain about updates. While this is a notable concern, we believe it may be due to the busy nature of their network operations.

Pros
- Integrated partnerships in 100+ countries
- Offers fair deals
- Specialized in selling businesses
- High success stories
- Easily accessible via phone or website form
- Has a network of private equity investors
Cons
- Limited number of broker staff
With their renowned financial savvy, we were not surprised by Mazars – Hong Kong’s knack for helping business owners sell their ventures. Of course, their reach as an international audit, tax and advisory firm definitely helps.
What truly resonated with us was Mazars’ commitment to securing fair deals for business owners. From valuations to connecting with potential buyers, they cover all the bases.
But what truly solidified our impression was learning about their success stories, positive reviews, and proven track record. The clients we reached out to had nothin but great things to say, which is obviously a good sign.
Additionally, they’re incredibly easy to reach. You can call them anytime, even outside regular business hours – although we didn’t manage to confirm their exact hours. Nonetheless, the point is that they’re reachable whenever you need them.
They also offer a convenient contact form on their website for those who prefer to reach out that way.
However, it’s worth noting that Mazars has a limited number of business broker staff on their team, which is understandable given their primary focus as an accounting firm. Nevertheless, when it comes to all your business brokerage needs, they certainly deliver.

Pros
- 3,000+ businesses for sale
- Blend of digital accessibility and personal interaction
- Comprehensive services for business sellers
- Transparent pricing
- Patient and responsive to inquiries
Cons
- Occasional issues about miscommunications
From the get-go, Business Broking Solutions (HK) caught our attention with their no-nonsense approach to business transactions. What immediately drew us in was their robust marketing network, spanning across Hong Kong and beyond into other parts of Asia.
We were also impressed that, despite being a global network broker, they manage to have both online and physical presence in Hong Kong. This blend of digital accessibility and personal interaction offers flexibility for clients who prefer face-to-face dealings.
Good news for sellers, as they offer comprehensive services, from growth and preparation to marketing and sale. Plus, their expertise spans across various industries, ensuring that businesses of all sizes receive tailored assistance throughout the selling process.
But we can’t help but notice that one of their standout features is their transparent approach to pricing.
During our interactions, they patiently addressed all our queries and provided clear explanations of their service fees. This transparency instilled confidence in us, knowing that there would be no surprises along the way.
Now, despite occasional comments about miscommunications, we personally found BBS to be patient and responsive to inquiries. However, their networks are in only about 10 countries globally, which can be limited to other clients.

- No ticket charges and no custodial fees
- Interest rates of up to 4.83% on instantly available cash

Cons
- Limited assistance may require clients to navigate transactions independently
- Reported system errors during account creation
- Few negative comments about customer service
Despite not fitting the traditional mold of a business broker, Interactive Brokers Hong Kong offers a business brokerage account that effectively helps clients buy or sell businesses. What we liked best was that it’s easy to hop on this service.
About that, we found it convenient to create an account on their website or download their app. This provided easy access to their business brokerage offerings, so that’s totally a plus point.
Additionally, you have the option to visit them in person during the weekdays to inquire about their services firsthand.
Just to give you a heads-up, we want to share some not-so good insights about the firm that we’ve learned. Some users have reported encountering system errors when creating an account.
Also, there have been a few negative comments about their customer service, so it’s good to keep patience in mind when reaching out to them.
Now, since Interactive Brokers primarily offers a business brokerage account for interacting with other businesses, buyers, or sellers, you may find yourself navigating the process independently.
