Found: ALL the Best Cafes in Hong Kong with Free WiFi!

Hong Kongers are known to be a workaholic bunch. With everyone always on-the-go, cafes all around the city have adapted to this lifestyle by installing free WiFi for their customers to use.

If you’re working remotely, you’re most likely on the hunt for spots to do your work in, which is why we rounded up several cafes where you can work for as long as you like. Check out our personal favorites below!

1. NODI Coffee Brewer

Address: Hong Kong, Central, Connaught Rd Central, 8號1/F, LANDMARK CHATERShop 115

Contact details: +852 2886 4168

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 7:30 AM to 6 PM
  • Saturday – 10 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Sunday – closed

NODI is all about connecting coffee and people. That’s probably why they picked up a Latin word that means knot as the name of their cafe.

Their store has a relaxed vibe with its modern interior that plays between the colors black and gray with wood accents. It could get too loud from time to time depending on the crowd, but just bringing noise-cancelling headphones with you would solve that problem.

Pro tip:

Get yourself a sesame latte. It’s quite rich in flavor and isn’t too sweet!

2. Winston’s Coffee

Address: Shop 8, The Hudson, 11 Davis St, Kennedy Town, Hong Kong

Contact details: +852 2697 1878

Operating hours:

  • Sunday & Monday – 7 AM to 7 PM
  • Tuesday to Saturday – 7 AM to 10 PM

If you like the clamor of the city streets as a white noise while you work, you’ll love Winston’s Coffee. There’s al fresco seating that’s perfect for people watching.

At night, it turns into a hip place to grab a few drinks, so as soon as you turn your laptop off, tell the bartender to keep the drinks coming!

Pro tip:

There are special offerings at Winston’s depending on the day. On Thursdays, they have a game where you’ll get the chance to win a drink by flipping a coin! On other days, some drinks are at a special discount, so make sure to check it out.

3. Hazel & Hershey Coffee Roasters

Address: Shop 3, 69 Peel St, Central, Hong Kong

Contact details: +852 3106 0760

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 10 AM to 7 PM

Hazel & Hershey is an eye-catching cafe with an exterior painted in something close to tiffany blue.

There’s limited seating inside for groups, but you can always take a seat at the bar. There’s also a lovely al fresco option that we prefer, especially during colder months.

Most of the time, this coffee shop is pretty quiet with muted chatter every now and then. It’s a great place to work, especially if you’re thinking of staying for longer hours.

Pro tip:

Here are our top two favorite drinks from Hazel & Hershey Coffee Roasters: Ecuador 75% cacao coffee and flat white.

4. Coffee Academics

Contact details: +852 2156 1238

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday – closed

The Coffee Academics is probably one of our favorite places to work. In fact, a lot of us here at Happy Hongkonger have days when we’ll do productivity sessions right there!

We love it for its ambiance because it’s reminiscent of traditional English parlors with an interesting twist. Their pastries and dishes are also what we always look forward to.

Pro tip:

You should try one of their four signature lattes. If you need help with choosing one, we suggest getting the Jawa. It’s an Indonesian palm sugar macchiato latte with coconut and pandan.

5. Elephant Grounds

Elephant Grounds is a cozy cafe that will make you want to work longer when you do your work in it. Their store features huge glass windows, so the interior is blessed with a good amount of sunlight.

They have an extensive food options, so be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you’ll never go hungry if you pick this as your workplace of choice for the day.

Another highlight to Elephant Grounds worth noting is they’re an animal-friendly cafe, so you can type on your laptop while your pup hangs out by your feet.

Pro tip:

We find that one of their more interesting drinks is the black belly. It’s an iced filter coffee with a traditional Italian taste – definitely worth the try especially if you’re looking for something strong and extra bitter!

Desk-one is technically a co-working place, but it fuses a library and a cafe with its co-working spaces. If you’re looking for a place outside your home to work with hopes of not being disturbed, this one’s your best bet.

You can opt for a single visit or get a monthly plan. There are certain benefits to the latter like free overnight storage, seat reservation, and such so it’s a great bang for your buck.

Anyway, whatever you choose, you’ll be assured fast WiFi and a socket of your own.

  • Monday to Sunday – 9 AM to 5 PM

The Brunch Club offers delectable meals that will make you come back for more. In fact, we’ve been here plenty of times enough to know the best dishes like the palm of our hands.

The ambiance is the best part, we think. It kind of reminds us of a European summer because it’s relaxed, cozy, and somehow still sophisticated.

Pro tip:

This one is located on a street that goes uphill, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

8. R&R Bagels

Address: 28 Li Yuen St W, Central, Hong Kong

Contact details:  +852 2178 5168

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 7:30 AM to 5 PM

At R&R Bagels, the star of the show is of course, the bagel. However, their drinks shouldn’t be disregarded because they’re also pretty great! We like ordering a cup of latte with our savory bagels to pump us up before working.

Anyway, their interior is pretty relaxed and the air conditioning is always at the perfect setting, which is a must during the humid Hong Kong summer.

Pro tip:

There are plenty of bagel flavors you should try. However, if we were to mention each one, we’d run out of space! So for now, we’re just going to suggest the one that really took the center stage – the gardener’s breakfast. It has a fresh spinach omelet, melted cheddar cheese, ripe tomatoes, pesto, and low-fat cream cheese.

9. Classified

Address: Shop 107, 1/F The Pulse, 28 Beach Road, Repulse Bay, Hong Kong

Contact details: +852 2351 3454

At the heart of Repulse Bay lies one of the cafes a lot of workaholics frequent – Classified.

It’s an open space, so guests tend to hear a cacophony of city sounds, which could be make-or-break for some. However, don’t be too quick to disregard this cafe.

Their interior reminds us of the seaside, so it automatically makes us feel more relaxed when working there. There’s also a bench that faces the street and mimics a swing, which we like sitting on as we work on our articles.

As a matter of fact, guess where we are while writing this now!

Pro tip:

Their Greek salad is one of our favorites from their menu especially if we’re just looking for something light. For drinks, we almost always get their cappuccino or vitamin sea (with whey protein, mango, pineapple, and coconut water).

10. % Arabica

Address: Ground Floor, No. 28 Aberdeen Street Central, Hong Kong

Contact details: +852 2326 4598

  • Monday to Sunday – 8:30 AM to 7 PM

Located at PMQ, this specific store of % Arabica is definitely a must-see. It’s quite relaxed, probably one of the most chill ones on this list!

Other people go here to chat, but you’ll also see quite a few people fixated on their laptops. Oh, and of course, their coffee is out of this world.

Pro tip:

Call us old-fashioned, but we order their cafe latte again and again! Either try that or the matcha latte. It’s not too sweet, which is just the way we like it.

There are only a few seats available here, though. The inside seating can fit around 10 people, plus a few more outside.

Here’s an insider tip: go here around 3 to 4 PM on a weekday. Otherwise, you can always line up for a few minutes until a spot opens up!

We don’t know how many times we’ve come back just for their lemon pie! Needless to say, we urge you to try that.

12. Pacific Coffee

Contact details: +852 2866 8692

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 10:30 AM to 8 PM

Pacific Coffee isn’t really known for its ambiance. It’s not super stylish compared to other cafes on this list, you see. However, they do have a really fast WiFi connection!

If that’s specifically what you’re looking for, then look no further. Other things worth noting about this cafe is there’s plenty of seating available, so it’s quite easy to skip the waiting lines for this one.

Moreover, you almost always see one or two students engrossed in their textbooks here, which is the ultimate telltale sign that it has a great environment to do your work.

Pro tip:

Their food is pretty good, but we suggest getting the parma ham & mozzarella sundried tomato focaccia specifically because it just hits the spot everytime!

Their interior is quite stylish and if it matters, it’s a perfect background for Instagram pics! If that’s not enough, the baristas here really do know how to make good coffee.

Their ambiance is fairly cozy, making it a great place to spend hours on your laptop. Most of the time, it’s pretty quiet here too, so there’s no need to worry about unwanted distractions.

Pro tip:

Our ultimate favorite from Nood Food is the drink called breakfast buff. It’s made out of banana, coconut yogurt, oat, skimmed milk, strawberry, strawberry pro mix, and wheat bran. It’s quite rich in protein, with a whopping 11g per serving. After working, you can head to the gym to build those muscles!

17. Page Common

Address:  G/F, 148 Austin Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

Contact details: +852 3844 8899

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 6 PM

One of our favorite things about Page Common is how spacious their shop is. If you’ve been to Hong Kong, you know that the common Hong Kong shop is designed to be as small as possible.

If you don’t like your workplace rowdy and stuffy, this might be your next go-to spot.

Located on the ground floor of Page 148 (a 4-star hotel), Page Common is quite chic and a bit luxurious. The best thing about them though is that they make really good coffee you’ll rave about to your co-workers.

Pro tip:

We urge you to try their homemade tiramisu, which is one of their best sellers. According to most who have tried it, it’s one of the best of its kind in the city.
