Pros
- Experienced dermatologists
- Clean, sleek clinic
- Fitted with the latest technology in dermatology
Cons
- Minor complaints about the clinic’s receptionist
- No walk-in appointments
There’s a lot of good dermatologists in Hong Kong, but in the TST area, the Apex Dermatology Institute is particularly renowned for its state-of-the-art outpatient clinic.
The clinic has four dermatologists, making them capable of providing a wide range of dermatological procedures that meet each patient’s specific needs.
Walking into their clinic, we found ourselves in an expansive room, almost like being in a hospital, but more calming and relaxing.
Their clinical staff were friendly, welcoming, and they made the environment comfortable enough for their patients needing dermatological treatments.
All their attending doctors specialise in dermatology and venereology, and have certifications from international institutes, and they’ve all been working in the field for years.
There have been slight complaints about the reception recently, but it’s nothing major, and we’re still vouching for the competence of their doctors.
Their services include medical dermatology and surgery as well as cosmetic dermatology. They have treatments for skin conditions scaling from moles to vasculitis.
Because of the pandemic, they’ve been quite strict about seeing patients per appointment only, and walk-ins are not accommodated at the present.
The clinic is located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, and it’s easily accessible especially for individuals that use wheelchairs and strollers.

Pros
- Highly experienced and qualified dermatologists
- Five attending doctors so they can attend to more patients in a day
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Beautiful and tech-savvy clinic
Cons
- Costly services
Next on our list is Skincentral, a dermatology clinic that was established in 2005, providing a comprehensive set of medical and cosmetic dermatological services.
They have a team of five doctors, four of which specialise in dermatology and venereology, and one that specialises in plastic surgery.
As for the doctors’ experience and specialisation, they’ve all graduated from well-respected institutes globally and have received certification across their field.
They treat a multitude of skin problems, and whether it may be for purely aesthetic reasons or something medical, they’ll pretty much have it covered under their scope of services.
The doctors as well as the clinic staff are all lovely and accommodating, but there have been complaints about overcharging in the past.
Although they lean towards the more expensive side, with their rates for a mole checkup starting at HK$1,350. Understandably so, initial checkups do tend to be more expensive than follow-ups.
Located at Landmark Atrium, we think it’s a great location, since you can walk around and browse shops or restaurants prior to your appointment.
And speaking of appointments, having a schedule booked is fairly easy, and their customer service representative is very friendly and will find the best time for your schedule.

Pros
- Highly knowledgeable dermatologists
- Fairly priced compared to other clinics
- Convenient location along Wyndham Street
Cons
- Complaints about the wait time
- Some reports about rude customer service
What we like about SkinRight Skin Surgery and Laser Centre is how their doctors focus a lot on educating patients – and the public – about certain skin conditions and diseases.
A common feedback from clients is that each checkup almost always takes at least 20 minutes, give and take.
Although it’s common for checkups to take some time, what’s worth noting about the doctors at SkinRight is how they manage to explain each patient’s condition up to the smallest element possible, sparing no details.
The clinic has three attending doctors, and they’re all highly qualified in the field. In fact, a first look inside the clinic would let you see each of their plaques and awards from various institutions on full display.
They cater to a lot of skin diseases, and they utilise methods such as cryotherapy, and skin biopsy. They also have treatments for aesthetic medicine like laser pigment removal and botox.
A look at their website shows a list of different skin diseases and conditions, so you can check those out if you’d like to see which treatment suits you.
Overall they’re a great team, but there’ve been some minor complaints about their customer service and reception, so there’s definitely room for improvement.

Pros
- Well-mannered staff and doctors
- Very welcoming ambiance in the clinic
- Convenient location
Cons
- A bit expensive
SKIIN is run by two female doctors, and both are highly esteemed in multiple universities not only in Hong Kong but internationally as well.
Their scope of practice includes medical dermatology, aesthetic dermatology, surgical dermatology, and paediatric dermatology.
We’ve heard a lot of positive remarks from their clients, and a lot of them have been coming to the clinic for years.
Located in the Bank of America Tower, their clinic is evidently quite new, complete with the latest tech in dermatology.
The building is pretty convenient, especially for SKIIN clients. On the first floor of the building, there’s a lot of retail shops and restaurants, and there’s a car parking on the third floor.
The clinic itself has a really exclusive and high-end feel to it, and the staff were definitely well trained. They were very warm and welcoming, making sure that each client was attended to.
Their services cover numerous skin conditions and diseases, so whatever your skin-related concerns are, they’ll have a treatment for it.
We really liked how both doctors were friendly – it always lessens the intimidation that comes with seeing doctors, if you’re iffy about that.
Overall, we liked the vibe of the whole clinic and the staff that were really warm and friendly all throughout.

- Well-mannered, highly experienced, and qualified doctors
- Clean, comfortable clinic
- Convenient clinic location
Cons
- Minor reports of rude receptionists
Finally, we have DermCure Skin Centre, a clinic that’s mainly run by Dr. Lam Yuk Keung. He specialises in skin diseases and sexually transmitted infections.
The clinic’s services generally cover laser treatments, radiofrequency therapy, botox, a whole lot of other aesthetic dermatology, and management of STIs.
Dr. Lam largely sees a lot of the patients, but he is also assisted by Dr. Yau Kit Yee. Both of them are specialists in dermatology and venereology.
They’re also highly esteemed in multiple institutions and have received qualifications from universities and hospitals both in and out of Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Dr. Lam is associated with quite a few hospitals in Hong Kong.
The clinic is located at Crawford House along Queen’s Road Central, a bustling business and retail district.
It’s always kept clean and sanitised and comes with a lot of high-tech equipment for certain surgeries.
Both doctors are unquestionably highly experienced, and they’re also very caring and tend to their patients fairly well.
However, we’ve gotten a few complaints regarding their front desk reception at the clinic, so that’s something to work on from their end.
Other than that, DermCure Skin Centre is a good clinic to check out if you need a dermatologist to go to.
