CEO Neway is a standout spot for those who love to sing their heart out, whether it’s an after-work hangout or just a random night of fun.

What makes this place unique is its strong focus on Hong Kong-style karaoke, paired with an impressive song library. Thanks to exclusive contracts with major Asian record labels, you’ll find everything from the latest Cantopop hits to Taiwanese classics.

Another big plus is the convenience of CEO Neway’s multiple branches across Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, and the New Territories. No matter where you are, there’s likely a location nearby.

Their pricing is another reason this karaoke bar made our list. Happy hour rates start at HKD 159 and include two drinks per person—a solid deal for an evening out.

They also have a K-Lunch option that starts at HKD 99. It’s an affordable option that already includes a drink and a set lunch.

The food here isn’t just an afterthought either. The chicken wings and sushi sets are surprisingly good, making it worth a visit even if you’re not planning to sing.

That said, it’s not all perfect. Booking a reservation can be frustrating, with reports of unresponsive staff and occasional language barriers.

While these issues didn’t ruin the experience for us, they’re something to keep in mind if you’re planning a visit.

Pros

  • Open all days of the week
  • Partnered with big record labels
  • Wide range of song selections
  • Offers special discounts and offers
  • Affordable rates
  • Good range of food and drinks

Music Box Karaoke stands out for its Japanese-style karaoke experience and an enormous song selection. With over 240,000 tracks in Chinese, Japanese, and English, it’s hard to find a place that matches the variety.

What we really liked was the happy hour deal. For HKD 300 per person, you get three hours of singing plus a drink. We think this is a pretty solid deal if your group has at least three people.

Smaller groups, though, should note that the price bumps up to HKD 350 per person.

The HKD 500 package for bigger groups is another highlight, with two hours of karaoke and unlimited drinks.

Their drink menu deserves a shout-out too. From sparkling wines to house liquors, there’s something for every taste.

However, the strict no walk-ins policy is a downside. You’ll need to plan ahead and make a reservation, which might be inconvenient if you’re looking for a spontaneous night out.

    Pros

    • Open all days of the week
    • Wide range of song selections
    • Good range of drinks
    • Private and cozy karaoke rooms

    Cons

    • Don’t accept walk-ins
    • Pricey rates

Best for a girl’s night out

“Not sure why my first review was rejected? If you go you will have a good time. The price is not bad for today’s market everything costs more. Great for a safe girl’s night out or private party.   I walked in off the street and was accepted by a private party to join.  If you’re looking for a change from the street bars,Just remember 10/10 number 10 Pratt st 10 th floor.”

      Lots of song choices

“Great relaxed atmosphere! Japanese console fir choosing songs. There’s lots of choice. The location is very easy to find and convenient to transport options.”

Red MR isn’t like any average karaoke joint. Its fancy DJ booth and dazzling lighting system totally amp up the vibe. Think karaoke with the vibrant buzz of a nightclub!

One of the top reasons we recommend Red MR is its budget-friendly pricing. For as low as HKD 149, you get a standard room for six hours of karaoke, which is an absolute steal. And for just HKD 48, you can enjoy unlimited non-alcoholic drinks.

If you’re planning a bigger celebration, their themed VIP rooms are worth considering. While they’re a bit on the pricier side, they offer an elevated experience. They come with a free-flow wine and beer package that offers great value for larger groups.

We also really appreciate the board games and beer pong facilities that they offer. They’re a great way to keep people entertained when they want to take a break from singing.

The food offerings also deserve a mention! Their ramen, especially the hakata tonkotsu and the assorted robatayaki platters, were delicious and a pleasant surprise.

While the wait time for the food can be long, we think they’re worth the wait!

      Pros

      • Open all days of the week
      • Wide range of song selections
      • Good range of food and drinks

      Cons

      • Slow service for food and drinks

        Well-maintained and clean karaoke rooms

“Place is clean and well maintained. They have more Karaoke songs (especially Cantonese songs from recent years) than another Karaoke chain. The room size for 3 people is just fit. The coffee table is reasonable for light meals. The staffs are nice.”

        To die for snacks

“Excellent place for karaoke lunch/ dinner. For the price of an average dinner in causeway bay, you get a whole private room to yourself with friends, decent food (honestly their truffle fries are to die for, not even cafes match this quality) and a space to let out your inner diva. Been here many times already.”

Looking for a fun, inclusive spot to sing your heart out? You might want to check out the queer-friendly Boo Bar in Yau Ma Tei.

While it has a reputation for being a “bear haven” because most of its patrons are the muscular and hairy subset of the gay community, we think it’s still a welcoming space for everyone.

Thanks to the karaoke bar and the wide variety of theme nights they offer, you’ll find something entertaining, no matter how you identify. Of course, the live performances and dance-offs are the highlights we especially enjoyed.

We also dig their affordable rates! For an entry fee of HKD 120/HKD 200 per person, you get to sing all night long.

From classic favorites to current top hits, their karaoke music catalog has everything.

Though the entry fee doesn’t include free drinks, they’re still pretty cheap. Drinks here are usually priced between HKD 68 and HKD 78, so you can enjoy a few rounds of cocktails without breaking the bank.

The only downside is their food and drink selection isn’t really that extensive when compared to other karaoke bars.

        Pros

        • Open all days of the week
        • Wide range of song selections
        • LGBT-friendly bar
        • Features themed events
        • Affordable rates

        Cons

        • Limited food and drinks selection

Great place to meet new friends

“Very friendly like a family. You may drink with your friends, or meet new friends sitting near the bar. It’s a karaoke bar so feel free to sing. Usually busy on Friday and Saturday nights, and better reserve a table if you are not used to standing. Come on weekday nights if you prefer practising singing and have quality chats with staff and meet new friends.”

          Friendly staff

“Was only there on a Thursday night. Full karaoke going on. Interesting metal martini glasses. Nice looking place, staff was friendly. Advised us that it would be busier on weekend. Hard to find. It’s on a side street and you go in the lobby and go up to the floor the bar is on. We figured it out from hearing the music.. :)”

With a great location in Sai Ying Pun and an even better song library to boot, Junel’s Restobar impressed us more by offering a family-friendly karaoke bar.

This Filipino bar and restaurant has been a fixture among expats since 2009. You’ll often find it packed with customers, especially on weekends.

What sets this karaoke bar apart is that singing here is free! Just order anything from their menu, and you’re good.

Their sizzling plate of sisig paired with some cold beer are great starters. Make sure you try them!

However, a dealbreaker you might find in this spot is that it doesn’t offer private rooms.

You can treat it more like an open-mic karaoke bar, which can initially sound intimidating if you’re not used to singing in front of strangers.

          Pros

          • Wide range of song selections
          • Affordable rates
          • Good range of food and drinks
          • Family-friendly restaurant

          Cons

          • No private karaoke rooms

            Excellent food and drinks menu

“Always a good time here! While it’s a known spot for everyone to come for karaoke, food and drinks here are great – casual, and no fuss. All the Filipino food here is cooked like back home too, and everyone is very friendly. Honestly, Junel’s is such a staple spot in the SYP neighborhood.”

            Trish, Google Reviews

            Family-friendly spot

“Junels is truly a place to go to with friends and family for good food and a good time! Authentic Filipino food that is delicious and reasonably priced. My favorite thing to do here is karaoke! It brings people together and is definitely the place I would go to every weekend! The owner and staff treat you like family! :)”
