Pros
- Coaches are helpful and extremely patient
- Supportive community of fitness enthusiast
- Great for first-time gym goers
Cons
- Some complaints of it being more expensive than others, but still worth the price
Pherform Gym is one of the few gyms that caters exclusively to women in Central Hong Kong. With quality training, coaching, and a supportive community, members tend to feel supported, encouraged, and motivated.
What really made us lean towards them is their female-specific training program, which is specially designed for women and is completed in 45-60 minutes.
Classes differ for each day of the week, such as metabolic conditioning on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; isolated hypertrophy on Tuesdays; and strength and power on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Of course, there’s also personal training, and there are options for individual or group sessions. We really liked these programs because it gives direct communication with an assigned coach.
We think it’s also fairly priced, starting at HK$6,400 for a monthly subscription. It isn’t so bad at all, and the gym is fully equipped with machines and other apparatus needed for working out.
The fact that it’s an all-female gym is really what sets it apart from the others. Sometimes it can be quite awkward starting out at a gym, so it’s a good place for women who are just starting out.
The solid and professional coaching brings a considerable first encounter with proper strength training.

Pros
- Highly knowledgeable and qualified personal trainers
- Extremely private and exclusive
- High-end, luxurious gym studio
Cons
- Slightly errs on the expensive side
RAW Personal Training owner and founder Jeremy Meyer is a multi-disciplined, academically qualified trainer with over 20 years of experience. He’s been a renowned figure in Hong Kong’s fitness industry.
One of the most notable things about RAW Personal Training is how strict they are when it comes to their coaches’ qualifications and expertise.
Each of their coaches must meet the minimum qualification and experience required before they can work with a client, which is something we find highly reassuring.
They specialise in fat loss, muscle gain, body transformations, strength and conditioning, and injury rehabilitation. We’re glad to know there’s something for everyone.
Apart from that, we love how working here feels super exclusive. Because it’s a 1-1 private, by-appointment-only gym studio, you won’t have to deal with other people using the same equipment as you are.
The gym itself is a really comfortable space to work out in, and it even feels luxurious with how undisturbed the whole place is.
And since it’s by appointment only, we’re assured that each program is tailor-made according to our fitness plan and goals.
Overall, the whole team is knowledgeable and always cheerful and friendly, and the equipment and facilities are also always kept clean and in excellent condition.

Ultimate Performance is a personal training gym chain that was first established in Europe. Now, they have a network of 20 gyms in four continents – all with highly adept trainers.
There are options for training one-to-one in the gym, virtually, or online. Whichever method you prefer, we believe they’re more than capable of delivering tangible results.
One of the things we noticed was how invested each of their personal trainers were with their clients’ progress, and it isn’t just because they were clients that they had to cater to, but it was really more of how they cared for everyone’s unique goals.
This kind of attitude brings about a supportive and motivating atmosphere in the gym, making it even more conducive for highly focused exercise, really taking you in the zone.
Their hours are quite typical, opening at 5AM and closing pretty late at 10PM. You get to choose what time you’re going and make arrangements accordingly with your personal trainer.
Locationwise, the gym can be found at Unicorn Trade Centre in Central Hong Kong, so it’s fairly easy to get to. Plus there are a lot of shops around if you want to look around before hitting those reps.

Pros
- Cheaper compared to other personal training gyms
- Open all throughout the week
- Effectively proven physical transformations
Cons
- Gym gets easily packed during peak hours
One Personal training has gyms in Singapore and Hong Kong. They’re popular for their 12-week program of structured high-intensity program and tailored diet plan.
Claims like that are always slightly iffy, given that everybody’s built differently, but One Personal Training has delivered countless transformational results, as can be seen in their website and social media feed.
But that’s now without proof, since a lot of their clients can attest to their service and their coach’s dedication in delivering their aspired fitness goals.
They begin with an assessment, where the body composition and fat percentage are analysed. After that comes the nutritional planning, and we’re particularly keen on how they avoid methods such as intermittent fasting.
The training itself is aimed at building lean muscles and burning excess body fat. It can be adjusted to how you see fit, especially if you have other considerations in mind.
The coaches know exactly what they’re doing and wouldn’t let you do something you can’t, and it’s very telling of their expertise.
Progress is reassessed every two weeks or so, making adjustments to the training program and diet plan along the way.
As for their rates, they’re a lot more reasonable in comparison to other personal training gyms, so that’s definitely one of the things worth noting about them.

Pros
- Great option for people with a busy schedule
- Multiple options for different fitness goals
- Super friendly and skillful coaches
Cons
- No online services
ATHLETIC CLUB is another acclaimed personal training gym located in Central Hong Kong. They only offer onsite services and no online classes.
All of their coaches are internationally qualified trainers, from their founder and director to their strength and conditioning coaches.
Even for individuals who go to the gym on medical grounds, their coaches are well-adept at the necessary exercises for cases such as injury and trauma recovery.
In as short as a few weeks’ time, some clients have expressed seeing significant results. Despite tough sessions, the coaches always make it more motivating and rewarding.
Since it’s located in Central, we like how it’s easily accessible, especially in the morning. For early birds, this would be a great option.
Their hours aren’t that bad either. Opening at 5AM and closing at 10PM daily, it’s a good place for people that find it difficult to squeeze in a workout in their schedule.
The gym itself is fully fitted with the latest machines and equipment, and everything’s always kept sanitised and well-maintained. It’s sleek and gives a really exclusive feel to it.
Maybe the only setback is the unavailability of an online coaching program. Since the pandemic, more people have been opting to stay at home, so it would’ve been quite nice to have AC do online coaching.

Pros
- Award-winning personal training studio
- Wide array of wellness services
- Reasonable rates and packages
- Accepts multiple payment methods
Cons
- PayPal payments are just for overseas clients
- Strictly no refunds of unattended classes
Dee Dream Life is one of our favorite studios with excellent personal trainers in Hong Kong.
Right off the bat, we applaud their recognition as the “Most Outstanding Professional Fitness & Wellness Coach Of The Year” in 2022. Because of this, we feel more confident in their capability to provide us quality personal training.
Their first trial costs HK$208, and drop-ins cost HK$350 afterwards. While these are around the average rates in the city, we still suggest looking into their 5, 10, and 20-class passes to save more money in the long-run.
But if you’re feeling more extroverted, we like that you can have 4 weeks of unlimited group classes for HK$1288.
They offer a good variety of other offerings, too. Apart from personal training, we think many can enjoy their dance, fitness, yoga, and meditation coaching as a one-stop-shop for wellness.
For us, they also make financing easier with several options – Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, American Express, Discover, and more. However, their PayPal option is only for overseas payments.
Just remember to settle your payment before the first class. Also, it’s advisable to commit since no refund of unused classes is allowed.
Visit Dee Dream Life if you’d like – they’re based in Central Hong Kong for better accessibility. Plus, they’re open every day.

Pros
- Reasonable PT rates
- Provides a trial class for a cheaper fee
- Many time slot options
- Flexible to making custom workouts
Cons
- Doesn’t entertain bookings on the same day or 1 day before
- Shorter hours on Saturdays and closed on Sundays
Qintensity Fitness offers some good sessions of personal training in Hong Kong that could be worth your while.
What we like most about them is their affordability. They offer 4 types of personal training (1-on-1, group boxing, group yoga, and HIIT) and each costs HK$600 for an hour.
Their fees are in the lower range compared to other fitness facilities in the city. Plus, they offer a one-time trial class at HK$100 each, so we think their rates are quite reasonable.
They provide a bunch of schedules to choose from as well, starting at 8 am and ending at 5 pm. Just note that same-day and next-day bookings aren’t accommodated because their bookings usually close 1 day before the session starts.
Also, they don’t have a permanent location for personal training sessions. Instead, their classes are held at outdoor parks across Hong Kong, which we believe could be suitable for nature lovers.
If you feel unfit, we advise coming to class 15 minutes earlier to discuss with your trainer. They can modify the workouts according to your fitness level and give free nutritional guidance as well!
Should you like to reach Qintensity Fitness, they’re available 6 days a week, except on Sundays. On Saturdays, though, they’re open for only half a day.

Precision Fitness HK is not your typical sweaty and unpleasant smelling gym. What’s great about them is that all the members take the initiative to clean the area and wipe their sweat off the equipment they just used.
Aside from this, members are encouraged to leave their shoes at the door and go barefoot. Socks are also cool if you are uncomfortable without it.
We prefer them compared to the other ones on this list because their training membership come with a no-risk, 30-day guarantee for first-time members. Simply let them know within 30 days of your first session, and they’ll issue a full refund.
Believe us when we tell you that your fitness will increase noticeably and you will see numerous improvements in your ability to complete exercises you cannot before.
