The 5 Best Psychotherapists in Hong Kong Who’ll Make You Feel Comfortable
“Functioning but struggling.” That’s what many Hong Kongers describe their day-to-day lives. From the outside, everything looks fine—stable job, regular routine, and people to talk to. But inside, even small tasks can feel heavier than they should.
A friend once shared that replying to messages or planning the week ahead felt strangely overwhelming. She knew it wasn’t a crisis, but she’s also aware that she’s not fine. Over time, that quiet struggle developed into an eating disorder.
Moments like these are signs that simply sleeping it off or pushing through isn’t enough. Without early support, manageable stress can slowly turn into something more serious.
If you’re also feeling the same, we looked into the best psychotherapists in Hong Kong to help you make your first step to recovery. Here are the ones that made it onto our short list after we spoke with other locals, ran anonymous surveys, and verified credentials.

MindNLife is led by a clinical psychologist, Dr Zaidi. This gives us the confidence that their services are grounded in more structured guidance, especially when dealing with issues that need careful assessment.
In fact, clients come here for tests such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and they shared that the clinic offers thorough assessments in a welcoming environment.
We also felt reassured that it has dedicated team members working on particular areas. For instance, they have a clinical psychologist specialising in trauma and children. Then, they also have a therapist solely for couples and sex therapy.
Having professionals who focus on specific areas can make a significant difference, especially if you’re dealing with sensitive issues that require deeper expertise.
Another thing we like about this clinic is that they have comprehensive mental health services. Aside from individual therapy, they have teen wellness, separation and divorce therapy, and marathon couples therapy.
They also offer online therapy sessions, which are much more convenient for people who don’t feel like going out.
We’re just sad that their in-person therapy sessions are pretty limited. Most of their psychotherapists are available online only.
Smooth assessment process
“Dr Quratulain Zaidi has carried out psychological assessments for children of families I have worked with while in Hong Kong. Feedback from families and colleagues is always positive, ensuring a smooth assessment process and a well informed follow up meeting to discuss results and the report.
Dr Zaidi has a warm and kind approach when dealing with vulnerable and sensitive cases and has been a wealth of knowledge for my colleagues and I.”

Welcoming environment
“I used mind and life for an ADHD test. I received a warm welcome from the staff and very professional advices from Dr Zaidi.”

Drawing from her 15 years of experience, Winnie Chiu is one of the top psychotherapists in Hong Kong who is worth considering.
She already has experience handling clients with diverse backgrounds and concerns, which clearly gives her the edge over new clinics.
Winnie Chiu also won the Best Psychological Services award from the Hong Kong Commercial Times 2024. This recognition gives us the confidence to recommend her, as her contributions to mental health care are also widely recognised.
Her services are also comprehensive. She supports individuals, couples, and families. She’s experienced in handling people with anxiety, relationship issues, and stress.
That said, it’s her speciality in psychodynamic psychotherapy and hypnosis that really won us over. Her approach includes deeper emotional patterns and subconscious influences rather than just focusing on symptoms.
We also appreciate her transparency when it comes to the process, session format, and policies of her clinic. This helps clients know exactly what to expect beforehand.
Clients also found the clinic comfortable and calming, perfect for a therapy session.
The only thing to note is that Winnie works on her own, without a team, so expect her availability to be a bit limited.
Empathetic approach
“I highly recommend my therapist! Winnie’s empathetic approach and insightful guidance have truly transformed my understanding of myself. Each session feels safe and supportive, allowing me to explore my thoughts and feelings deeply. I’m grateful for Winnies expertise and the progress I’ve made.”

Hong Kong Family Constellation & Integral Psychotherapy Centre is one of the most established psychotherapy clinics in Hong Kong that we found. With their 25 years of experience, you can never go wrong with their reputation and well-established presence.
Their services are comprehensive. They support people facing various challenges, from family relationship issues to psychosomatic problems. They also address career and financial issues, which are not usually covered by other clinics.
On top of that, we appreciate the clinic’s 20-minute free initial assessment. This gives clients a chance to see whether the psychotherapist and approach feel like a good fit before they commit to full sessions.
Their lead psychologist, Dr Raymond Lai, is also impressive. He’s knowledgeable in Zen and quantum science, so he integrates both psychological principles and philosphical take into his work.
This is probably why Dr. Lai knows exactly how to connect with his patients. Patients said that talking to Dr. Lai puts them at ease because of his natural empathy and calm presence.
The clinic is conveniently located near Kowloon Park too. Plus, it’s a comfy, cosy clinic, with clients noting that it’s suited for consultations and therapies.
The only hitch? Their schedule fills up quickly, especially because they’re well-known in Hong Kong. We recommend booking early to secure an appointment with them.
Experienced therapist
“Raymond Sir is very experienced and knowledgeable, familiar with many different counseling theories and techniques. I have benefited greatly from his combination of various theories and techniques.”
-Ms. Hung Christine, Google Review

What immediately sets Mind Pro apart and earned them a spot on this list is its track record. Being awarded A Caring Company for twelve consecutive years by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service isn’t something that happens by accident.
Their consistency tells us that their commitment to client care and social responsibility isn’t just a one-time achievement, but a sustained standard.
Their consistently also shows in how clients describe their experience. Many patients point out how transparent and informative their therapists are, taking the time to explain what’s happening with their mental health and what needs to be worked on next.
Their team is very strong. The team is composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, and counsellors. That means they can address a wide range of mental health needs, ranging from mood disorders to developmental delays.
Another thing worth highlighting is that they offer neurodegeneration and DNA drug testing services, which you don’t see at most clinics.
The only slight downside is longer waiting times. Patients shared that sometimes, they need to wait an hour for their session, which can be inconvenient if you have a tight schedule.
Helpful therapist and beautiful clinic
“Very beautiful clinic and extremely helpful. Diagnosis was fast discovered and DR. Ricci is an amazing and experienced person”
-Mr. Criss Piascinski, Google Review
Great therapist
Dr Ricci Cheung is, simply put, a great doctor. He explains exactly what is wrong and how we are going to repair. I sincerely trust him, his medical knowledge and his judgment. The entire staff is friendly and makes you feel at ease even through some not-so-easy time.”

If you’re looking for a clinic with a solid, well-thought-out foundation, Momentum Counselling Ltd is an easy pick. The clinic was founded by two integrative psychotherapists, Jill and Patricia.
Jill specialises in trauma treatment, sex therapy, and couples therapy. Meanwhile, Patricia is more focused on career-induced stress, anxiety, and parent-adolescent communication issues.
We found the combination really advantageous to patients. The clinic covers both deeply personal and everyday life challenges, which gives clients more flexibility in choosing a therapist who truly fits what they’ree dealing with.
Aside from their credentials, they also give excellent client service by making them feel understood and heard. Clients said that they’re warm and empathetic therapists, which helped them feel safe opening up about sensitive issues.
Accessibility is another strong point. All sessions are in English, making them highly accessible to expats and bilingual patients.
They also offer online therapy, which is a big plus if you prefer sessions from home or have a busy schedule.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind, though. Momentum has a strict appointment cancellation policy. If you can’t cancel your appointment 24 hours before the date, you’ll be charged at full price.
They also have a small team, which makes their availability a bit limited.
Warm and empathetic therapists
“A fantastic experience. A really warm and empathetic understanding, unrushed and Patricia was an expert at allowing me to go deep into my own senses and challenge myself; with plenty of guidance, help and support to both learn and unlearn habits and behaviours. Would highly recommend .”
-Mr. Alex Bowen, Google Review

Patricia is kind and empathetic to any issues or difficulties you may be having and gives sound advice to it. Her knowledge in all areas from career, life and personal relationships is realistic and helpful.”
