If there’s one Italian restaurant in Hong Kong that we can say really lives up to the hype, it’s Pici and their fresh handmade pastas.
They offer pasta with a chewy and freshly made texture that other restaurants don’t have. Some of their standout dishes are truffle pasta and cacio e pepe.
Aside from that, we also appreciate that their menu doesn’t try to be overly fancy. They’re more into comfort food, making the experience feel relaxed. Pair that with a casual setup perfect for group diners.
We also find their open kitchen another plus. It’s impressive and adds a bit of energy to the restaurants since you can actually see their preparation.
Service-wise? It’s surprisingly fast considering how crowded the place usually gets, especially during lunch. Staff are calm and super friendly despite the busy hours.
But their place can get really packed during peak hours. Also, their menu really just revolves around pasta—not ideal if you’re looking for a huge selection.
Wonderful service
“Wonderful service and atmosphere here! Loved the food! I love Italian food so it was a delicious experience here! We got tuna tartare, wagyu tartare bone marrow, oriechiette sausage pasta, beef cheeks pasta, tiramisu and raspberry flavored panna cotta! Our server Abby was super nice to us! We’re from Philippines like her, so we felt right at home here! Thank you for the limoncello shots as well! Would recommend to anyone! Thank you again!”

For a luxurious, fine-dining experience, Amber could be your best bet. We found this on Michelin’s list, and their French cuisine is the reason why.
This 3-star restaurant offers a wide range of haute cuisines, like wagyu beef, duck foie gras, and caviar, to name a few. They use fresh ingredients in their dishes, which is noticeable in the flavours and quality of food.
They also pay great attention to presentation. The plating is polished—not overly complicated but enough to wow your eyes before you even get a spoonful.
The service is another standout. Staff are approachable and highly trained on handling different diner concerns. They also serve food with a nice attitude, which keeps the experience comfortable despite how high-end the restaurant is.
We also like the dining room itself. Chairs and tables are thoughtfully arranged so it doesn’t feel crowded. We can say it’s more on the quiet and elegant setup, like what most fine-dining offers.
However, expect that pricing is undeniably expensive here. Portion sizes are also small, more like a tasting menu style.
Amazing service
“The service is amazing, it’s my first time visiting a 3 star restaurant. It’s an excellent spot for special occasions. The signature uni is a must try. The Addition of Buddha’s hand citron surprised me the most as it was not expected from the dining course but still well balanced with the dish. Really like the charsiu as a part of local signature blend into the main course. But the slightly raw pork meat really just not my cup of tea”

Great wines
“My family visited Hong Kong from France to celebrate the year’s end, and Amber made it unforgettable. The staff gave us a private room and a kitchen tour in our native language — such a thoughtful touch. The food was outstanding, beautifully paired with great wines. Warm hospitality, amazing flavors, and a special atmosphere made it a lunch to remember.”

Tin Lung Heen’s skyline view is something that we can’t just miss. This Cantonese fine-dining restaurant offers a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. In fact, many diners time their visit here to see the sunset while enjoying their Cantonese food.
Speaking of food, their menu is just on another level. It’s also the reason why they’re a two-Michelin-star restaurant. From authentic dim sum to crispy noodles with fresh abalone, their servings are worth the price. We can say that their offerings are more on comfort food.
Aside from that, their tea selection also deserves credit. Their teas pair well with the food and remind you to slow down and enjoy the experience.
Their service is also something you’d expect from a fine-dining restaurant. It’s calm and attentive without becoming intrusive.
The only hitch? You need to book in advance to get prime seating if you want the best skyline views. Note that these seats sell out quickly.
Extraordinary experience
“Four of us did the Michelin tasting at lunch and it was extraordinary as usual. The food is always best examples of each kind, the service is always top notch, and the space is breathtaking. Our favorites today were the Iberian pork, and the conch. The conch with the salmon roe was particularly amazing. Marco, the somm, took care of us and he was just uber professional and knowledgeable. Highly highly recommend Tin Lung Heen!”

Enjoyable dining
“It was a very enjoyable experience. Three of us ordered two set meals, and the portion were more than enough, we were super full. The service was excellent, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the weather was not good yesterday, so that we couldn’t get a clear view of Victoria Harbour. The good was also very good, and the Char Siu and the soup in the set meals were excellent tasty.”

ORKA Restaurant & Bar just gets us because of their unique concept. It’s a wellness-focused all-day dining where healthy eating is prioritised.
Their menu revolves around light and balanced dishes, like creamy salmon pasta and hummus and pita, to name a few. Their menu, which offers a good mix of brunch and vegan options, is also worth mentioning.
We also appreciate their social dining setup. It works well, especially since they have shareable dishes.
Not to mention, their location is convenient, making it easy to find and drop by if you want healthy meals.
Just one thing to take note of is that they have a smaller menu compared to mainstream places. Also, it isn’t fancy and not for those looking to dine with a wow factor.
Great healthy comfort food
“🌟 Best hidden gem in Central! Great healthy comfort food with cozy vibes. Love their outdoor seating and chill music. Staff are super friendly ✨The creamy salmon pasta is a MUST try! Also obsessed with their baked sweet potato topped with parmesan & bacon—so comforting. The hummus & pita? Super smooth and perfect for sharing!”

Relaxing experience
“Came across this nice deco restaurant called Orka at Wyndham Street, so we decided to go for a relaxing lunch here on a busy Saturday. We ordered the Steak Frites and the steak were done en point, tender and juicy, tastes great! We also ordered the Hummus & Pita. The spread was smooth and goes perfectly with the sourdough pita. Definitely a great place to spend your Saturday afternoons.”

Heimat by Peter Find deserves a spot on our list because of its modern European cuisine in the middle of Hong Kong.
Honestly, it’s one of the unique dining experiences we came across since it’s rare to see this style of cuisine everywhere.
When it comes to their offerings, some standouts are the Green Pea Soup and Pear Vanilla Compote, to name a few. Their Boar Ragout and German hand-shaved noodles are also among their best-sellers.
Their menu has a focus on using seasonal ingredients, and we can say that they’ve refined it without trying too hard.
Upon receiving the food, we also noticed their plating. The food is well-arranged artistically while still not being complicated to the eye.
The restaurant itself is also another experience. The vibe is elegant and intimate, something that a special occasion or celebration calls for.
That’s why it’s no surprise that their pricing is on the premium side. It’s something you won’t visit casually or regularly.
Excellent food and service
“I came for dinner a few times and first time for lunch. Service & Food is excellent as usual and highly recommend to try. Dolores is very knowledgeable about wines and super attentive!”
-Mr. Tim Heyer, Google Review
Good dining experience
“Pleasantly surprised, and overall good dining experience. Didn’t know what to expect of German fine dining, but we presented we very good food, with a touch of German. First few courses came super quick, followed by a lull in between other courses (this I think was due to other diners coming into the restaurant). Service had some teething issues, with one particular server seemingly not very confident. Note that final bill says no tip is included, but they charge a 10% service charge. Not very honest, so definitely smth to keep in mind. Food wise though, very good!”
