Pros

  • Since 1983
  • Conducts trunk shows worldwide
  • Uses high-quality fabric from Italy

Cons

  • Relatively expensive

Empire International Tailors is a shop that creates custom suits and sports jackets. Empire and its experienced tailors in Hong Kong have been in the field since 1983, which gives them a slight advantage.

Another advantage of Empire Tailors comes with the fabrics they use for their bespoke creations. The tailors use high-quality wool from Italian mills and companies for their suits and jackets.

These wool mills include Vitale Barberis Canonico and Reda, both of which have been in the business for centuries.

With this in mind, you may find it unsurprising that Empire’s services are more expensive compared to other tailors in Hong Kong. A suit made by the tailors can easily cost you upwards of $10,000.

Another thing we like about the shop is its extensive display of fabrics that clients can choose from. On our visit to their store, we found their collection of fabrics with different patterns and colours that you could pick to make an entire suit.

We appreciate their professional staff that took our measurements. They listened to what we wanted and gave us valuable suggestions to help improve the suit and make the custom suit more budget-friendly.

We also appreciate how they keep our measurements on record, making it easy and convenient for customers to order suits again.

Overall, we believe Empire’s services are the best match for those looking for quality custom-made wool suits, regardless of how expensive the pieces and services can be.

Pros

  • Uses fine fabrics from all around the world
  • Creates bespoke suits for men and women
  • Creates multiple types of garments and accessories

Cons

  • Does not offer price estimates online

Bobby’s Fashions is a family-run business established in 1952 – the family’s 3rd generation now runs the business.

For years, the shop has been crafting various jackets, overcoats, shirts, and tuxedos for men and women. Bobby’s Fashions also creates suits for kids, which is a plus.

Aside from the shop’s experience, we also like Bobby’s selection of cloths. The store stocks over 20,000 fabrics from fine cloth mills worldwide, giving customers more room for customization.

The shop also allows customers to choose from different touches, cuts, fits, patterns, and colours right from the comfort of their homes, which adds points for convenience.

During measurement, Bobby’s staff helped us pick the fabric and design that would suit the event we wanted to attend. We appreciated the way they guided us without overwhelming us with their own opinions.

Based on our experience and other customers we talked to, Bobby’s Fashions’ creations are perfectly-fitting and looked sharp.

In case we were not satisfied, the tailors also gave us a full year of free alterations, which we think is very accommodating but also showcases their trust in the quality of their creations.

Overall, we believe that Bobby’s Fashions is a splendid match for people looking for reasonably priced but quality custom-made suits and clothing.

Pros

  • Offers ready-to-wear and made-to-order clothes
  • Wide range of clothes and accessories offered
  • Quick turnaround time

Cons

  • Relatively expensive

W.W. Chan & Sons is a shop that prides itself on high-quality Shanghainese suitmaking. W.W. Chan & Sons was established in 1952 and has since done different kinds of garments.

We like the tailors’ extensive range of clothes, as they make everything from suits, cardigans, and knitwear to shorts and accessories.

W.W. Chan’s garments are both made-to-order and ready-to-wear, which gives clients more options regarding turnovers.

Furthermore, we also like the tailors’ quick turnover time. On average, W.W. Chan and Sons can give you your custom-made suit in just 15 – 20 days.

Of course, the quality of their creations and speedy delivery comes at a pretty hefty price. A suit jacket from W.W. Chan costs around $8,000, while a full suit starts at around $12,000.

On our visit, we were greeted by patient and helpful staff that answered our queries quickly and extensively. We appreciate how they made valuable suggestions, which showed how much they know the ins and outs of their trade.

With all these in mind, we believe that W.W. Chan and Sons is the perfect choice for those looking for quality suits delivered as soon as possible, or those that enjoy wearing sharp-looking ready-made suits.

Pros

  • Quick turnover time
  • Caters to men, women, and the LGBTQ
  • Offers suits in multiple fabrics

Cons

  • Relatively expensive

Raja Fashions is a shop run by a family of tailors in Hong Kong since 1957. Now in its 4th generation, the family-run shop has numerous advantages worth taking note of.

One of Raja Fashions’ advantages is the range of garments it creates and the variety of fabrics in storage. The shop makes suits, jackets, and shirts for men and women using different materials, such as cotton, linen, cashmere, and wool.

Raja Fashions also makes gender-affirming garments for the LGBTQ community, which is a plus as far as we’re concerned. No one is turned away here.

We like how Raja Fashions makes the entire suit-making process more convenient for customers. The tailors are also open six days a week in both their shop and showroom, making them incredibly accessible for interested clients.

During our visit, the staff warmly greeted us and took our measurements quickly, giving helpful advice in the process. We had the chance to talk to other clients, who said they appreciated both the professional service and the quick delivery of the garment they ordered.

Some even said their clothes were delivered before the promised time, which is usually 3 – 6 weeks.

Overall, we believe that Raja Fashions is a splendid match for those who like having a choice between different fabrics and cloth weights and appreciate quick delivery.

Pros

  • Multiple locations
  • Makes different garments

Cons

  • Highly expensive

Magnus & Novus runs four shops for tailors in Hong Kong. Having multiple locations is one of its biggest strengths, as it makes its services more accessible to clients.

Although the main office is open by appointment, the other four locations are available daily at varying times. For those looking for bespoke garments, however, you should set an appointment so you can get enough time for your measurement.

One of the things we like about Magnus & Novus is the quality of their work. Each piece that they’ve made feels luxurious and looks elegant.

The shop makes extravagant menswear, including suits, jackets, shirts, and casual wear.

However, this quality translates to high costs. Most jackets offered by Magnus & Novus start at around $30,000, which is more expensive than most tailors’ services in Hong Kong.

Another thing we appreciate from Magnus & Novus is their quick turnover time. Their bespoke suits can arrive as soon as 4 to 5 weeks, which is fast enough, especially for high-quality garments.

We visited their shops to inquire about bespoke garments, and they welcomed us warmly, answering our queries as clearly as possible.

We had the chance to talk to their other clients, who said that they appreciated Magnus and Novus not only for their service but also for their welcoming attitude towards feedback and criticism.

Overall, we believe that Magnus & Novus is the perfect match for those looking for luxury suits, especially for special events.
