The 5 Top Flexible Office Spaces in Hong Kong for Startups & SMEs

  • Size: As a team, we evaluated offices that accommodate teams of 1 to 60+, not one-size-fits-all setups. We also verified with different startup companies if these offices are flexible enough to grow without moving offices suddenly.
  • Value for Money: We did the math and calculated the total savings. Then, we verified if the advertised prices matched what we actually paid to rent out the offices for a day or two.
  • Amenities: When possible, we tested the features and amenities of these coworking spaces. We looked for everything from 24/7 access to business support services.
  • Rental Terms: Companies that rent these offices regularly spilled the beans on lease lengths, rental options, and whether these offices had extras like virtual offices.

A few years back, we walked into a so-called “flexible office”, thinking we’d found the perfect spot for our writing team. What we got were wobbly desks, spotty Wi-Fi, and a bill that didn’t really match the initial price we were told.

Unfortunately, for every great office option, there’s usually one that misses the mark completely.

So we kept looking. And this time, we did it properly. From cozy coworking spaces to fully fitted serviced offices built for serious teams, we explored what actually works in Hong Kong’s fast-moving business scene.

If your company or team needs to get work done, we’ve narrowed down the best flexible office spaces in Hong Kong worth your time and money. These are our top picks, so you can skip the trial-and-error and go straight to the good ones!

SOHK’s focus on serviced offices in Hong Kong allows them to deliver real value where it matters most.

From the start, their data-driven platform stood out to us. It gives clients access to 100% market coverage, including upcoming and off-market serviced offices that don’t show on standard listing sites.

One company that leased a 20-person space told us it saved them massively on fit-out costs because SOHK negotiated for pre-built offices that matched their exact needs.

We also appreciate that each client has a dedicated account manager who handles every detail, from lease negotiation to infrastructure setup. As a result, companies can start operations in just weeks.

SOHK supports teams ranging from small 5-10 person spaces to large 30-60 person setups. They also offer a custom office option for bigger teams.

Perhaps the best part is that SOHK’s services are pretty much free for the renters. All fees are covered by vendors. They even offer exclusive rewards, such as iPhones, for qualified enquiries.

The trade-off is lease length. Their rental office lease terms run 2 to 3 years, which is perfect for businesses ready to put down roots, but isn’t ideal for those looking for short-term office rentals in HK.

Pros

  • Specialised service office experts
  • Massive savings
  • Dedicated account managers
  • 100% zero costs
  • Custom offices available

Cons

  • Lease terms run 2 to 3 years

It was a great and valuable experience

“It was a great and valuable experience at Service Apartment Hong Kong.  Their team provided an excellent service in helping me for the serviced apartment enquiries and bookings.  They also helped efficiently in rates and terms negotiations and signing arrangement.  I wanted to express my sincere thanks to their team and, especially Matt.  Of course, I have no hesitation in recommending Service Apartment as your advisor and agent.”

They understood my place requirements

“The agents there are very responsive, replied me immediately. They understood my place requirements and suggested me a number of places within our budget. Thanks to their research, we stayed at a very conveniently located service apartment near our child’s school and most importantly the price was within our budget.”

Eaton House made our list of the best flexible office spaces in Hong Kong largely because of its pet-friendly policy.

We saw several entrepreneurs working here with their pets curled up beside them or chilling under the desk. This relaxed, welcoming atmosphere carries throughout the space too.

We temporarily rented one of their private offices (for 1 to 6 people) and appreciated full access to all their amenities. Members get free access to the pool, gym, and yoga room. Honestly, we almost spent more time at the pool than at our desks.

The conference rooms are awesome. One startup told us they hosted a board meeting here and their investors were impressed by the 46” TVs, whiteboards, and complimentary refreshments.

We’re also big fans of their 50-seat theatre with 4K projection and Dolby sound. It’s a standout facility that works equally well for presentations, screenings, or team events.

The only downside? While day passes and monthly memberships are available, the hot desk rate here is slightly higher than average. A few people told us they love the space but have to limit how often they come because it eats into their budget.

Pros

  • Pet-friendly
  • Private offices and conference rooms
  • Day passes and monthly memberships
  • Tons of awesome amenities
  • Fantastic theater room

Cons

  • Expensive hot desks

One of our best co-working space experience

“Our team stayed at Eaton House for nearly 2 years and it has been one of our best co-working space experience with a mix of premium hospitality and functional office environment. The working team is professional and friendly and has been a great help to us.”

I’m very much enjoyed with their management team

“I have rented a workplace for a short term office in oct-2023. I’m very much enjoyed with their management team, they are really helpful and cheerful. Also, the location is convenient.”

What we really love about Banyan Workspace is its strong focus on business growth, not just on providing a desk to work at. We say that because of their awesome support services designed to help businesses thrive.

Their hot desk memberships come with 24/7 access, printing credits, and meeting room time. One man we spoke to shared that he uses the hot desks several times a month and appreciates the reliable Wi-Fi and phone booths for client calls.

Their dedicated desks have lockable storage, which we think is perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to carry their laptop everywhere. In our view, the semi-private setup offers the best of both worlds: privacy and community.

We’re also impressed by their professional development workshops and networking events. They make it easy for office workers to market and develop new business contacts.

The con? While they offer short-term office rental options in HK, their serviced office leases are less flexible if companies need to downsize quickly. A small business owner told us he had to pay a small fee to reduce his office size mid-lease.

Pros

  • Awesome support services
  • 24/7 hot desk access
  • Dedicated lockable storage
  • Semi-private setups
  • Professional development workshops

Cons

  • Less flexible leases

Spectacular view

“Spectacular view, excellent service, and flexible passes! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a co-working space in Quarry Bay”

Beautiful and comfortable space

“I love to work at Banyan Workspace, with nice view, beautiful and comfortable space, and friendly and supportive staff. Many settings are very considerate as well. Really enjoy the space there! Thank you!”

The Great Room at One Taikoo Place makes a strong first impression… and keeps it. It boasts gorgeous waterfront and skyline views that easily tempt you to forget about work and just admire the scenery.

Honestly, we think the view alone makes it one of the more polished options for shared office spaces in Hong Kong.

Flexibility is awesome too. Their dedicated offices range from 2-person setups to entire floors for large teams.

A company we spoke to said the prestige of the place has helped them win more high-end clients.

In addition, we appreciate that the hot desk plan includes 24/7 access and private, on-demand spaces.

One consultant told us he uses the Hot Office space for most of his client meetings because it has saved him from having to rent expensive conference rooms elsewhere.

We also value their virtual office service, which includes a prime corporate address and mail handling. Plus, the pantry is stocked with power snacks, and the communal areas are stylish and comfortable.

However, it’s in a busy commercial area, so we encountered some traffic during our commute.

Pros

  • Gorgeous waterfront and skyline views
  • 2-person setups to entire floors
  • 24/7 hot desk access plans
  • Money-saving Hot Offices
  • Awesome virtual offices

Cons

  • Some traffic during the commute

They have a spacious common area

“I visited The Great Room for the first time for a headshot taking event. Compare to other co-working places I went to, this def feels more high end and calming. They have a spacious common area with self help coffee, but also spots for quiet work and phone calls. It is a very nice environment to work from and different events for members. Highly recommend this place if you need a temporary office!”

Enjoyable co-working space so far

“I’ve been working at The Great Room for a couple of months now and I have to say that it has been the most enjoyable co-working space so far. Compared to the usual industry giants, the staff at TGR does deliver on their promise on delivering a great and welcoming atmosphere, while also offering monthly community events that members actually want to attend. The amenities, bookable meeting rooms, support and location are all great and can be recommended.”

Atlaspace’s exclusive lounge bar with handcrafted beverages made this coworking space more like a  sophisticated social club. Yes, we had a few drinks, and yes, they were good.

Drinks aside, they have everything from private serviced offices to virtual office Hong Kong solutions. Their private offices range from 3 to 700 workstations with custom layouts.

This makes them perfect for businesses that need a custom setup. A worker we spoke to said the electronic height-adjustable tables significantly reduced his back pain.

Their meeting rooms are top-tier. We love that they are equipped with video and audio systems, interactive displays, and electronic privacy glass.

Atlaspace also has private resting rooms, which we think is genius for catching a mid-workday nap. We honestly could have gotten used to having the lattes from their coffee station and a place to power nap during our deadline hours.

While their amenities are great, we found the event space a bit tricky to book on short notice. A company told us they had to wait almost three weeks for availability.

Pros

  • Exclusive lounge bar
  • Private serviced offices
  • Custom layouts
  • Top-tier meeting rooms
  • Private resting rooms

Cons

  • Tricky to book event space
