The 4 Best Cremation Services in Hong Kong for Peaceful Farewells
Losing a loved one is tough enough. When you’re in grief, dealing with arrangements and finding a funeral or cremation service in a fast-paced city like Hong Kong can be stressful.
Honoring someone who passed shouldn’t be complicated, but the logistics often are. The thought of going through tedious arrangements can burden an already heavy heart.
To save you from stress and help you navigate your options, here are the best cremation services that’ll give your departed loved one a dignified farewell.

White Lily offers flexibility and customer support that’s hard to find elsewhere. From the start, their team helps the grieving family lay out a detailed plan for the cremation, ceremony, and other arrangements.
Unlike those that only offer direct cremation services, White Lily goes a step further. They provide assistance with venue decoration, video montages, eulogies, and other elements to truly personalize the ceremony for the deceased.
Moreover, they provide transportation services, so you will not be bound by location when choosing a venue.
What we appreciate the most, though, is that their services don’t conclude at the ceremony. They offer post-funeral services such as grief counselling and various memorial activities to help grieving clients deal with the loss.
The rates are quite expensive. However, with the quality of care and attention to detail they provide, we can say that their services are well worth the price.
If you want to stay on the budget, you can opt out of the luncheon and other add-on services such as live-streaming, booklets, and keepsakes.
Highly recommended
“We are very thankful to the team at White Lily. They handled the entire process of our Dad’s funeral with compassion and patience. They took the time to detail all of the options available and understand that the needs for one family will differ from those of another. They took the time to find the right people to be involved for our family, having listened to our story and beliefs. They made recommendations throughout which supported us in making decisions at a time when we were quite overwhelmed. The service for Dad was beautiful. So many attendees have commented on how fitting a service it was for him. We are very content with the choice we made. We would highly recommend White Lily to anyone.”

Compassionate and detail-oriented
“Grieving the Loss of My Mother was hard enough! Having a company, to offer you support and guide you through these emotionally charged times, is heaven sent! I found WhiteLily was most, helpful, l would like to thank Ka the Owner, Oscar his Operations Manager, Dipsy, Celine and Oscar for everything, the service at Union Church with Reverend John Snelgrove and the wonderful team at Union Church, Eric, Rob and Betty made the whole service beautiful. The Sky was blue and the first hint of Autumn was in the air, Mother would have been happy and touched by the arrangements.”

Founded in 1930, Hong Kong Funeral Home is one of the oldest funeral parlors in the city.
One of their biggest strengths is their wide range of services. They handle everything related to cremation and burial, from the collection and preparation to the transportation of the deceased.
We also appreciate that they can accommodate various ceremonial arrangements and handle the processing of all documentation and admin matters—like arranging obituaries in newspapers and preparing venues for ancestral rituals.
For burials, they also provide post-service care. This can include grave tending, memorial inscriptions, and restoration work.
We think the convenience of having all the necessary services for cremation and burials in one place is a huge help to grieving families.
That said, some customers have noted that some of their facilities are a bit outdated. Hong Kong Funeral Home has spacious ceremony halls, but it’s not the best choice if you want to customize the funeral service fully.
Accessible location
“Hong Kong Funeral Parlor is located at the junction of King’s Road and Java Road, with convenient transportation. It can be reached within 5 minutes by exiting Exit A of Quarry Bay Station. Birth, old age, illness and death are inevitable stages for human beings. Cherish every day of life, do meaningful things and be a valuable person.”

Functional and convenient site
“This is certainly a place of sadness but its still the most convenient site for organising funeral for the people of Hong Kong. A lot of flower shops and restaurants nearby if you need the service.”

SAGE la Green won us over with their fairly priced services. They can work within the budget while ensuring a dignified farewell for the deceased, which can be hard to find nowadays.
We also like that they offer a range of personalized packages for Chinese and Western-style funerals.
Their Simple Trip package already includes the fees for direct cremation, file handling, funeral equipment, and other follow-up services. Just note that with this package, there’s an additional fee for transportation.
It’s also great that they can liaise with the Hong Kong Deaths Registry as well as the consulates and embassies in the city. With the help of their funeral undertakers, they can expedite the process and have the cremation done in under five days.
This is especially convenient for foreign clients who need to repatriate the remains of the deceased back to their country.
The only downside we see is that they mainly work on Chinese and Christian funerals. This could mean that they don’t have options for families with different religious or cultural backgrounds.
Comprehensive and affordable funeral plans
“Excellent service, transparent prices, dedicated personnel to follow up on family matters, patient listening, and different funeral plans.”

Attentive and considerate staff
“The impression of La Green Funeral Company is that they are attentive to customers and they serve the ancestors with respect. From receiving the body to putting on makeup and changing clothes, everything is done carefully and very cleanly. It will not be like a factory-style assembly line operation. The price of the service is also very clearly stated, and there will be no need to add money randomly afterwards.”

Another long-standing funeral service provider on this list is Universal Funeral Parlour. Since 1978, they’ve been providing tailor-made services and a transparent fee structure.
What we like most about them is that they can handle cremation, burial, and funeral rites regardless of the religion or culture of the deceased.
Clients can fully customize the memorial service, offerings, and the disposition of the ashes. A detailed fee table is also posted on their website, making it easier to create a personalized ceremony that fits the budget.
Another advantage of Universal Funeral Parlour is its 16 memorial halls and 9 rooms, which are all equipped with a family lounge and a reception room for the deceased. These venues have capacities ranging from 40 to 250 people.
Not only that, they also have an online support team that’s available 24/7 every day. If you have enquiries, just reach out to them through their website.
That said, we’ve come across a few complaints about miscommunication with the team, which led to scheduling issues. If you’re considering the, we’d suggest dropping by in person to make sure everything’s clearly laid out.
Modern funeral home
“It is a pioneer of modern funeral homes with a long history, a spacious location and convenient transportation. It is one of the important funeral homes in Hong Kong.”

Inclusive and efficient
“The funerals of my mother-in-law and grandfather were held in this church. The former was a Catholic and the latter was a hell-breaker. They were also cremated at Diamond Hill.”
