Top 5 Hair Transplant Clinics in Hong Kong

How We Picked

Method. The two most common techniques are extraction and transplantation, the gold standard being the latter. There’s also SMP, and every clinic has different specialisations, but we chose those that disclosed which method they use.
Qualifications. Naturally, doctors must be board certified and qualified to perform the treatment. Hair transplant also takes years to master.
Clinic. The tools and techniques used in the procedure should be fully sanitised and comfortable enough for patients in aftercare.
Solutions and treatments. Not everyone will benefit from a hair transplant, and various treatments should be made available for mild-to-moderate hair loss.

Pros

  • Over 45 years in the industry
  • Globally recognised hair transplant studio
  • Endorsed by many celebrities and renowned individuals

Cons

Stress, lack of sleep, and unhealthy lifestyle are only a few of the major contributing factors in hair loss.

First on our list to address such issues is Advanced Hair Studio, a globally acclaimed clinic with over 70 studios worldwide. Celebrities like Shane Warne and the late Martin Crowe fully endorsed the services of this clinic.

The studio has been performing hair transplants for over 45 years, and they’re considered to be one of the best and most effective across the globe.

They cater to both men and women and have a number of treatments that they utilise for each procedure.

Depending on the severity and the patient’s scalp help, they can use procedures such as advanced follicle direct, laser hair growth treatment, hairfusion, hair grafting, or hair thickening fibres treatment.

Their first step in the hair regrowth treatment involves a complimentary consultation with one of their hair loss specialists that will analyse your scalp’s current condition. From there, it’ll be decided which treatment will suit your situation best.

If the idea of hair transplant ticks you off, but you’d still like to try other options, they also have noninvasive treatments.

Pros

  • Has promos for certain treatments
  • Highly professional medical perspective
  • Won’t push through with hair transplants unless absolutely necessary

Cons

  • No estimate prices provided

As hair transplant gains more and more popularity, clinics have been adapting to cater to hair loss treatments as well. Next on our list is HairWorks Professional Medical Hair Transplant Centre.

Aside from hair transplants, they also deliver hairline adjustment, beard transplants, eyebrow transplant, sideburns transplant, and scar covering and revision.

In hair transplant, they use the least number of hair follicles, or ‘graft’, to achieve the best results.

Although they claim that their prices are indicated with no hidden charges, we found it quite iffy that they didn’t list down their rates or at least provide estimates.

On that note, they still have promos which can be found on their website. This applies to a number of their services, so keep an eye out for those.

Nevertheless, HairWorks has become one of the well-known hair transplant clinics in Hong Kong for their service and results.

A lot of their previous clients have attested to their satisfaction after the procedure done on them. Not only that, their doctors are also very meticulous.

It’s also worth noting that the centre only provides medical treatments that are approved by the Hong Kong, USA, and EU FDA-approved treatments.

Pros

  • ISHRS Graduate Fellow
  • ISO 9001:2008 Certification
  • ABHRS Diplomate (2010-2020)
  • ISHRS Fellow Member

Cons

  • More expensive than other hair transplant clinics

Dr. Bertram Hair Transplant clinic might just be the largest surgical team in Hong Kong dedicated to hair loss treatments.

Operating since 2009, the clinic has been doing solely hair transplant procedures using different methods, such as scalp micropigmentation (SMP), follicular unit extraction (FUE), and follicular unit transplant (FUT).

They offer various combinations of the three to meet each client’s individual needs at a reasonable cost, although certainly not cheap.

Initially they only did hair transplant for men, but in 1012, they introduced the female hairline extension technique, which has steadily become one of the clinic’s sought-out services.

The clinic’s staff are all trained overseas and are required to attend regular seminars to stay updated with the latest development in the field.

In addition, Dr. Bertram is also a widely acclaimed medical doctor, with local and international accreditations to her name.

The clinic itself has also received international accreditation: ISO 9001:2008. It’s no wonder they’re one of the top choices in Hong Kong.

If you’re considering them for your hair transplant, they offer a free assessment via WhatsApp, so you don’t have to go all the way to their clinic.

Pros

  • Good option for individuals with severe baldness
  • Good option for those who can’t get a hair transplant

Cons

  • Only focuses on one method: SMP

HIS Hair is run solely by Mr. Deng Minqiang (“Jonathan”, as he is known). Unlike other hair transplant clinics, HIS Hair only utilises SMP.

Unlike FUE and FUT, the SMP method is a lot less invasive, as it only appears to tattoo the scalp with microneedles, giving the appearance of stubble.

It’s more of a colouring method than a transplant surgery. It aims to mimic the natural appearance of hair follicles using specially made pigments and application methods.

The end result is somewhat a realistic simulation of hair growth. It typically takes at least two to three sessions to really get the desired effect.

While it is largely branded as a solution to hair loss, the SMP procedure is more of a cover up for the scars inflicted from hair restoration procedures.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to hair restoration, but it is a widely regarded option for those with severe baldness.

Not everyone is suitable for a hair transplant, since a lot of factors come into play, like the health of the donated hair and the scalp too. So in that sense, SMP is quite a good choice.

Jonathan has been performing SMP for over 10 years in Hong Kong, and he is very passionate about bringing SMP to a wider audience.

Pros

  • Offers free consultation
  • In-house doctor is a diplomate of the American Board of Hair Transplantation
  • Member of the International Society of Hair Transplantation Surgery

Cons

  • No information on their service fees provided

Lastly, we have Wellness Hair Transplant, a registered day-procedure centre that specialises in various hair loss problems using FUE and a variety of nonsurgical or medical treatments for each client.

The clinic has a decent range of services, from eyebrow transplantation and microblading to Regenera Activa and FUE hair transplants.

They’re widely recognised in Hong Kong as one of the go-to places for hair loss solutions, and they’ve been included in numerous publications locally.

Although it appears that they have only one in-house doctor, they can finish an operation in a short time, which is apparently something very considerable in hair transplant.

A shorter duration period ensures that the extracted hairs can be placed in the follicles much earlier, yielding better results and more chances of hair regrowth.

Not only that, the clinic is also equipped with the latest technology in hair transplant, so those going under the needle can be assured that everything is functional and kept sanitised at all times.

Although their doctor specialises only in FUE, he also uses a combination of other methods depending on the needs of each patient.

Unfortunately, there’s very little information provided on how much they charge for their services. But they also offer a free check-up for those who are interested in getting a hair transplant.
