Local Lovebirds Voted the 5 Best Hotels for Couples in Hong Kong

Romantic Ambiance and Design: We looked into how each hotel created an atmosphere for couples, from interior design to lighting. We also assessed how views, room layout, and decor influenced the overall experience.

Room Comfort and Amenities: We evaluated the quality and comfort of the rooms, especially features that are specific to couples. Amenities like private balconies, soaking bathtubs, mood lighting, and in-room dining.

Service and Hospitality: We observed how attentive, warm, and discreet the staff were towards couples. Personalized services were also considered, including thoughtful gestures like welcome drinks, anniversary surprises, and treats.

Value for Money: We checked whether the hotel’s pricing matched the overall quality, comfort, and experience it provided. We also took note of any packages, inclusions, and perks offered specifically for couples.

You know what’s underrated? Going to Hong Kong for a romantic getaway!

Tourists usually flock here for Causeway Bay shopping; families for either Ocean Park or Disneyland. But despite the busy, urban life, the city is also rich with luxury hotels where couples can have a nice, dreamy stay.

To round up this list, our team conducted online surveys on X, Facebook, and Instagram. We heard the voices of local lovebirds and reviewed the ones that came out on top.

For local recommendations, start off with this list.

How much do hotels for couples cost to book in Hong Kong?

The cost for hotels for couples starts as low as $103 per night for budget options, while luxury stays can cost at least $1,500 per night. Prices vary based on hotel quality, location, and season.

Everybody knows The Peninsula in Hong Kong for high-end stays. And when we explored it for couple experiences, we’re happy to note that the hotel doesn’t lag behind.

Though amenities vary from room to room, we loved the thoughtful gestures they personalize for clients. Couples celebrating anniversaries would get room upgrades and complimentary desserts and champagnes.

The rooms all have the comforts we were looking for. There’s a table to control light, temperature, and privacy. The coffee and hand-drying machines were from known brands as well.

The kicker is, of course, the sweeping views of Victoria Harbour and the HK skyline. It’s particularly romantic during sunset, or when the hotel hosts their nightly light show.

Completing the couple experience is their wellness offerings. We liked the spa packages that feature aromatherapy massages, stone treatments, and couple suites.

It is to be expected, though, that The Peninsula is quite expensive to book and fully enjoy. There are also times when the lobby itself feels crowded, as the place also offers afternoon tea experiences.

Pros

  • Spacious, high-tech rooms
  • Amazing room views
  • Personalized gestures included
  • Excellent location in TST
  • Tailored luxury spa packages for couples
  • Multiple fine dining options available
  • Early check-in and check-out available

Cons

  • Premium rates
  • Lobby can become busy at times

Breathtaking experience

“One of the great historical building in Hong Kong since 1928. The lobby is breathtaking, staff always carry a smile and helpful. Room is in great design and historical, with some modern element. We ordered the room dining. The food was high quality and delicious, but not as good as I had in Four Season. Hope I can come back next time to celebrate my anniversary.”

Terrific anniversary experience

“It was a terrific experience on our wedding anniversary. The staff was amicable and courteous—excellent service and cleanliness. Our experience with Felix peninsula restaurant was beautiful. Especially Ms. Lewis Chiu and Mr. Stanko Luicsic were amazing. Excellent service and gesture to accommodate our needs and making our special day, memorable.”

We liked Mandarin Oriental for couple celebrations. The majority of the guests we interviewed said that the modern luxury and elegance of the place is ideal for intimate getaways.

The hotel goes above and beyond. For instance, couples can expect anniversary cakes, rose petal baths, and personalized greetings for their celebrations.

Occasionally, they would also offer surprise upgrades to Harbour View or Suite rooms.

This depends on the room you book, but we’re happy to see units that have panoramic views of Victoria Harbour. The suites themselves are fully luxed-out too – silk textiles, marble bathrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

It’s important to take note, however, that some rooms are slightly old-fashioned in terms of design. We recommend requesting a more modern suite if that’s up to your taste.

Dining and spa options at the hotel are world-class. There’s Cafe Causette and Captain’s Bar that’s ideal for a cozier, more laidback dining experience.

For club members, there are more perks: private dining, complimentary drinks, and an intimate lounge environment.

Pros

  • Exceptional hospitality and personalization
  • Rooms with stunning views
  • High-quality amenities
  • Central yet peaceful location
  • Offers memorable extras
  • Flexible check-in and check-out prices
  • Quality dining options
  • Many perks for club members

Cons

  • Some rooms are old-fashioned
  • Occasional slow phone responses

Second to none

“Our experience was very positive from check in to check out. We stayed for 9 nights to celebrate both my birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary.  We were welcomed with a room upgrade and a cake to honour our anniversary.  The rooms are clean and the facilities in the hotel is 2nd to none.   Last but not least Carla at the reception was amazing.   Her hospitality skills  is exceptional and worth noting.”

A memorable experience

“Wedding anniversary staycation. We stayed in a Club room with Harbour view which was extremely comfortable and well appointed to allow for some work followed by rest and relaxation. We basically stayed in the hotel and made use of the MO Spa, Club facilities and in room dining. All of which was excellent adding to our overall feeling of comfort. Staff were there if you needed them, otherwise we were left to enjoy in peace. Overall we had a memorable experience. Thank you MO.”

The Four Seasons is a win for couples seeking an intimate and luxurious getaway. It’s overlooking the Victoria Harbour too, giving guests a romantic view from their rooms.

We liked how they went the extra mile for couples’ celebrations. Guests mentioned that they received complimentary champagne, cakes, balloons, and even personalized decorations.

The range of dining options here is pretty impressive, though we expected no less at the Four Seasons. There’s Caprice, for example, a French restaurant with 3 Michelin stars. It’s perfect for those refined, intimate dinners.

However, tables at the restaurant fill up quickly. Other than your hotel booking, we also advise reaching out to the restaurant in advance for a reservation.

Amenities are just as comprehensive. There are two outdoor pools, including an infinity pool that overlooks the Victoria Harbour.

Those who prefer in-room experiences aren’t behind either. We love the romantic lighting, the private layout, and the gorgeous Bose speakers for world-class music quality.

All these experiences come at a premium rate, so do plan accordingly.

Pros

  • Personalized services and touches
  • Michelin-starred dining experiences
  • Luxurious spa experiences
  • Harbour-view suites
  • Offers many complimentary gifts
  • Prime location
  • Top-notch amenities

Cons

  • Premium rates
  • Dining options fill up quickly

Excellent service and great food

“Fantastic stay at The Four Seasons HK! Our room faced Victoria harbour and we had a great view of Kowloon opposite and it was somehow therapeutic sitting there to watch the sun rise, sunset and even that typhoon. Service was excellent and the hotel gave us a complimentary giant macaron for our 25th wedding anniversary . We also went to Argo for drinks and lovely service too, though the drinks did not impress. On the other hand, Caprice where we had lunch was extremely good. From service to food, we enjoyed the lunch very much. Lovely lovely stay, will love to stay here again.”

Iconic experience

“It’s been 20 years since my last stay at the Four Seasons Hong Kong, and yet it still feels iconic. Our suite was really spacious with incredible views of Victoria Harbor and Kowloon, and staff remain genuinely warm and attentive. The Executive Club on the 45th floor was also a highlight, with great food and champagne from morning to night across breakfast, afternoon tea, and an evening supper service.”

Grand Hyatt features offerings ideal for couple celebrations. For starters, guests can access rooms with Victoria Harbour views and private terraces – ideal for viewing the Symphony of Lights together.

For couples specifically, they offer the Plateau guestrooms designed for adults only. We appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of each suite, which felt private and spa-like.

These Plateau rooms don’t include automatic Grand Club access, though. Guests need to pay extra for this to access perks like afternoon tea and evening cocktails.

The spa and wellness facilities are also pretty exceptional. Couples can enjoy massages, personalized aromatherapy oils, and post-treatment relaxation time with tea and fruit.

As for dining options, choices are flexible. We like that couples can choose among in-room dining, private dinners, and poolside food delivery through The Grill app.

The staff are accommodating as well. Whenever possible, they offer early check-in assistance and personalized gifts for couples.

Prices are on the premium end, and availability is definitely limited during the holidays. Best to take note of these things before booking.

Pros

  • Offers couple-specific rooms
  • Private and quiet adult-only spa rooms
  • Exceptional couple spa treatments
  • Stunning views of Victoria Harbour
  • Attentive, personalized service
  • Excellent dining experiences
  • Convenient access to pool and fitness areas

Cons

  • Must pay extra for Grand Club access
  • Premium rates

Exceptional level of care

“Superb quality, service and atmosphere. The elegance and level of care is exceptional. All my needs were exceeded. Pool area is large and comfortable for family, couples or simply relaxing.”

Located along Victoria Harbour, Rosewood offers breathtaking waterfront views from every room. Some of the suites even come with private balconies, so couples can enjoy the sunset together.

We’re impressed with the range of amenities too. Each suite features a luxurious marble bathroom, soft lighting, and plush bedding.

Rates are on the higher side for these suites, especially those with balconies and harbour views. But we think it’s worth the splurge for the level of care you get.

Beyond this, the service is also personalized, with staff approaching details proactively. Some of the guests told us that the hotel had prepared surprise gifts, even without requesting them.

Wellness and dining options are also great. The Asaya Spa by Guerlain, for example, offers couple massage rooms. There’s also an infinity room overlooking the harbour.

Just take note that pool seating can be limited during the afternoon to evening hours.

For fine dining options, luxury restaurants include Henry, Butterfly Patisserie, and CHAAT. For couples who love rare spirits and cocktails, there’s DarkSide.

Pros

  • Suites with harbour views and private terraces
  • Personalized anniversary surprises
  • Outstanding dining and wine options
  • Spacious, elegant rooms
  • Good range of couples spa and treatments
  • Convenient location near K11
  • Attentive and friendly staff

Cons

  • Limited pool seating during peak times
  • Occasional delays at check-in

Super friendly, proactive, and sincere

“This is the second time we stayed in Rosewood. This time we had a marvellous room with a balcony where we enjoyed the stunning harbour view and had a romantic night. Had an unforgettable time. All staff members we met were super friendly, helpful, proactive and most of all, sincere. Special thanks to Jacki for taking a good care of us even prior to our arrival.  We are still wondering how the hotel actually do its training to deliver such a consistently from-the-heart culture. Definitely worth a visit again!”

Service-oriented hotel

“We went there for an anniversary celebration, the hotel has prepared gift for us surprisingly! It is a Grand Harbour View hotel and thus we can overlook the sunset of HK and the world famous Victoria Harbour! No matter day and night, this view is superb! We also had massage in the Asaya Spa and we had a very relaxing time there in a couple treatment room. We went to swim, dine in different outlets, listen to live music in Darkside at night, and without flying outside HK, we can have a relaxed and romantic, memorable stay in Rosewood. Great choice with such a service-oriented hotel!”
