The 5 Top Ballet Schools in Hong Kong to Master Elegance and Style
Ballet can feel pretty intimidating, and there’s a reason for that. Most ballerinas start super young. Getting those graceful moves down takes a mix of precision, elegance, and a little bit of obsession.
The effortless twirl and leaps you see? They didn’t just happen. They’re the result of countless classes and practice.
If ballet has caught your eye, a good school is the perfect place to start. Hong Kong has tons of options, so picking the right one can be a bit overwhelming.
Lucky for you, that’s where our team comes in. We’ve scouted the best ballet schools in Hong Kong, so your dream of being a ballerina might be just one enrollment away.

Everything about Elite Ballet School HK is intentional, from the way classes are structured to the method they use.
The school follows the Vaganova Method only. It’s all about posture, coordination, musicality, and clean technique.
It’s clearly built for long-term dancer development rather than quick wins or exam certificates.
Their curriculum is also well thought out. Preschool classes start gently with creative movement, rhythm, and storytelling. But even at that stage, the foundations are being set properly.
As students move into preparatory and pre-professional levels, the training becomes more structured and demanding. They, then, focus on technical progression and expressive development.
It’s led by Miss Maryna Zalatar, who has a professional dancing background.
Based on how students talked about her, she’s more like a mentor, with a focus on discipline and stage readiness.
We think they’re best for committed kids who see ballet as more than an after-school activity.
With their reputation, it’s not surprising that classes fill up fast. It also means, though, that early enrollment matters if getting a spot is the goal.
It’s a great place for anyone serious about developing strong ballet skills
“Elite Ballet School is excellent, and Ms. Maryna is very professional. I appreciate how the school stays true to the authentic Russian Vaganova method, focusing on precise technique and proper alignment rather than exams and ‘fake’ technique. It’s a great place for anyone serious about developing strong ballet skills or even just having fun”

Twinkle Dance Company is a great choice when it comes to introducing young children to ballet.
Here, they make ballet fun and a medium to build confidence. It’s perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.
Classes often include parent-child sessions, games, songs, and music. They turn ballet basics into something playful rather than intimidating.
We also loved how the instructors put a lot of effort into creating a safe and happy environment.
Parents said their kids are always encouraged to explore movement and grow at their own pace.
The school follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. They provide structured progression from age 2, but everything’s presented in an approachable way.
Adult classes focus on fitness and enjoyment. Besides ballet, they also have contemporary and Barre Sculpt sessions.
However, we don’t think they’re the best fit for pre-professional dancers. Advanced pointe work or intensive technique training isn’t the focus.
Great introduction to ballet class for both kids and parents!
“Our daughter has attended Miss Lynn’s class for 2 years. Miss Lynn is patient and takes time to understand each of her students’ needs. The front desk staff are also very responsive and helpful. Great introduction to ballet class for both kids and parents!”

Fouette Ballet School isn’t a soft, playful ballet space. It’s a serious training school built around the Vaganova method, so everything is structured, disciplined, and professional.
Their system of issuing certificates after every 150 hours of training reinforces that focus on progression through mastery.
We liked that they prioritise small class sizes and constant correction. It shows that the school is more about properly training dancers than running high-volume classes.
The teaching team is one of their strengths. Their instructors are Vaganova-trained with real professional backgrounds.
According to students, the instructors are very technical and sincere when they’re teaching.
Fouette leans into stage experience through regular performances and competitions too. This makes them a great choice for committed students.
Obviously, the weak point is never the training. We did, however, hear some issues about administration and policy transparency.
Someone raised a red flag around the three-month advance payment policy and refund denial.
The main problem was unclear terms upfront, and agreements only being shared after problems came up. We suggest opening this up with them early on.
I like the way she teaches her students
“I’m thrilled to attend Ms.Leyla’s class and to know she graduated from University as a choreographer and ballet teacher. I’m a teacher, too, and I know how important it is to get a teaching degree! I like the way she teaches her students and how sincere she is in teaching her students.”

Gravity Ballet makes ballet accessible and enjoyable. The environment is supportive and welcoming, and progression feels realistic instead of intimidating.
From our research, they’re all about helping adult dancers grow at their own pace while keeping it fun and manageable.
It was founded by Eve Yu in 2009. Classes are structured enough to build real technique, with barre, center work, and freestyle. That said, there’s no rigid syllabus like RAD or Vaganova.
This makes the learning more relaxed, less stressful, and easier to fit around a busy schedule.
They actually have two studios (Central and Tsim Sha Tsui), so it’s more convenient to drop in. The large number of classes and teachers also means everyone can train consistently.
We also heard that they blend ballet with fitness, flexibility, and stress relief. At the same time, they offer adult pointe training and even stage performance opportunities.
That said, we don’t think it’s ideal for those aiming for professional ballet careers or strict syllabus certifications. Serious dancers looking for elite technical training may feel limited here.
It’s a welcoming place to any level
“I tried just about every ballet studio in HK and stopped once I found Gravity. More space than most studios and a huge number of classes/levels/teachers to choose from, and it focuses on ballet specifically as opposed to other studios that offer ballet as one option of many. It’s a welcoming place to any level and I’ve learned a lot in my time dancing here. Especially recommend Miss Kammy and Miss Victoria as teachers but they are all good!”

Venus Villa Dance Academy is really focused on serious ballet training while still welcoming beginners and younger kids.
The academy puts a strong emphasis on technical skills like turns, jumps, balances, and full-body expression.
Classes start from beginner levels and go up to level 6. We loved that even baby ballet classes are available for the youngest dancers.
Their teaching style is based on a Cuban approach inspired by the Vaganova method. This combines Russian precision with an expressive moment.
It gives students a mix of disciplined technique and artistry, something that sets Venus Villa apart from more traditional schools.
Students particularly raved about how Ms Venus gives detailed guidance on posture, arm placement, and movements.
The main drawback we can point out is the location. The Wong Chuk Hang studio requires travel across Hong Kong, which can be inconvenient for families living in central areas.
Public transport is available, but peak-hour commutes can be long and tiring.
Absolutely extraordinary and unique ballet school
“Absolutely extraordinary and unique ballet school, it’s definitely not the other typical ballet school you found in town, glad I’ve found one here in this neighborhood. Thank you !!!”
