Sky Blue Bikes, founded in 2010 by Sean and Elissa, reflects their nearly 50 years of combined experience and has earned a strong reputation among Hong Kong cyclists.

When I dropped by, it didn’t feel like just another bike shop. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with riders chatting in the lounge and group rides being organized.

The selection is another strong point. They carry bikes across just about every style—road, mountain, fixed-gear, and even kids’ options. I also heard they’re the official Wilier dealer here, which adds some weight for anyone looking at premium bikes.

I spoke with one of their regular clients, and he mentioned the maintenance service has always been reliable, which seems to line up with the shop’s overall reputation.

From what I can tell, Sky Blue Bikes really focuses on quality and thoughtful design. Their gear and accessories include helmets, shoes, and cycling apparel, all of which seem built to last.

One thing to note—if you’re mainly here for rental bikes, be aware that the rates are on the pricier side.

I’ve noticed Bull Bike Store popping up a lot when people talk about cycling in Hong Kong, and with good reason.

They have two locations, in Prince Edward and North Point, which makes it easy to drop by without going out of your way.

From the outside, it looks like a standard bike shop. Inside, it’s clear they cover all cycling needs, with bikes, helmets, and other accessories.

They’re also active on social media, which makes it easy to see their latest products, promotions, and special offers.

A friend of mine is actually a regular here, and he mentioned that he appreciates how the staff can explain the differences between bikes and brands without making it feel overwhelming.

That kind of guidance seems to be a consistent part of the experience, which is probably why the shop stands out for many.

They stock a wide range of brands and styles, so most riders should be able to find something that fits.

The only downside is that certain bikes or sizes aren’t always in stock, which can be frustrating if you have your eye on a specific model.

Friendly Bicycle Shop made it to my list for its convenient location near the Mui Wu ferry pier, which makes it an easy stop for anyone looking to explore Lantau by bike.

From what I’ve seen and heard from a few locals, the shop caters to a wide range of riders. They sell and rent mountain bikes, kids’ bikes, and tricycles. It’s a solid choice for families or anyone looking to get a bike for the day.

I asked about the rental rates and tried a bike once, and I found the pricing quite reasonable. The bike was in good condition and easy to handle, which made cycling around Mui Wo really enjoyable. 

The shop also handles basic maintenance and repairs, so minor issues can be sorted quickly without having to look elsewhere.

That said, the facilities are quite basic compared with larger or more specialized cycling stores. The selection of high-end bikes or specialized gear is limited. So anyone looking for advanced options might need to go elsewhere.

The Wing’s Cycle stood out to me because it’s run by Wong Kam Po, a world champion track cyclist. Having someone with that kind of experience leading the shop really adds credibility and shows how the place is run.

The store, located in Tsuen Wan right next to Castle Peak Road, feels like a go-to spot for serious cyclists. They stock a wide range of imported bikes from well-known brands, which attracts riders who are particular about their gear.

I also noticed they handle repairs, bike fitting, and regular maintenance. This is convenient if you want to keep your bike in good shape without having to run around town.

One thing that makes the shop different is how it brings riders together through classes and competitions. It’s not just a store—you can actually connect with other cyclists there.

They even have an in-house café, Wing’s Coffee & Bar, where you can grab a quick drink or snack before or after a ride.

That said, customer service seems to be hit or miss. While the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, some customers have mentioned long wait times for repairs and occasional delays in getting responses to inquiries.

If you’re looking for a spot that’s fully dedicated to BMX, DJ BMX Workshop is worth checking out.

Its long-standing focus on BMX culture in Hong Kong has made it a go-to place for riders serious about the sport.

They carry a wide range of BMX bikes and parts, from 12” to 20”. The shop stocks well-known brands like Federal, Tall Order, Merritt, and KHE.

I heard from some riders in the area that the variety makes upgrading or setting up a BMX bike straightforward.

Beyond selling bikes, the shop runs events and gatherings that make it a meeting point for BMX enthusiasts.

One friend mentioned that attending these events helped him meet other riders and learn new tricks, which seems to be a big part of the shop’s appeal.

The only drawback is that the shop’s focus on BMX means it doesn’t cater to riders looking for other types of bikes or accessories. If you’re outside the BMX scene, options are limited.
