Dr. George Chow earned our favor for making it easy for patients to access various services in one room. Unlike other clinics that outsource specialized services, Chow is fully equipped to offer on-site diagnostics like endoscopy and ear irrigation.

We’re also glad to note that the clinic offers same-day appointments while prioritizing urgent cases. Additionally, the level of care is impressive – one client revealed to us that their hearing was restored within 2 weeks.

We also found Dr. Chow to be deeply empathetic, particularly with kids. He’s attentive, friendly, and kind, with flexibility in speaking both English and Cantonese.

The costs of procedures here fall within the city’s average, so they earned points for fair pricing. In addition, the follow-ups via email or WhatsApp make the rates worth every penny, as the approach is hands-on and personalized.

Of course, no practice is perfect. We did meet a couple of patients who felt pressured into high surgical costs. These appear to be extremely rare cases, though we still recommend getting a second opinion before resorting to surgery.

The ENTific Centre is home to many specialists, all of whom meet our standards for top-notch experience and certifications. And since there are many professionals under one roof, the availability of specialists is flexible for patients.

We like that the clinic offers a wide range of services. This includes non-surgical ENT treatment, local anesthetic procedures, and even aesthetic-focused facial surgeries. According to clients, the specialists are respectful and calm all throughout.

They also met various key points when it comes to convenience. For starters, they’re centrally located, making it easy for patients to pay a visit. Additionally, the scheduling is fast and easy via the website or phone. 

Apart from the convenience, we also liked the quality of their overall service. For instance, treatments are done with discretion. They avoid unnecessary prescriptions or invasive procedures unless clearly necessary.

That said, those with private or foreign insurance may have trouble pushing through with the clinic’s limited billing support. You may expect long wait times if you’re a foreign client who happens to need urgent ENT services during your HK stay.

We were impressed with Dr. Lai Kwong Lun’s range of services, which caters to both adults and children. In particular, he specializes in non-surgical treatments, office-based local anesthetics, and complex ear surgeries.

What sets Dr. Lai apart is his expertise in treating advanced ear conditions such as cholesteatoma. Through endoscopic ear surgery, a client said that their hearing improved, even after being told at another clinic that restoration was unlikely.

Apart from focusing on minimally invasive methods, we also favor how flexible Dr. Lai Kwong Lun’s working hours are. Plus, appointments can be taken at either of the clinics: Central and Tsim Sha Tsui.

Costs for first-time consultations and minor treatments were also within the city’s average. And with his attentive and highly efficient staff, it’s clear to us why the majority of his clients said that he’s worth the money. 

That said, customer service at the front desk could be improved. Some patients reported issues such as a lack of timely communication when the specialist was running late. Fortunately, these are just occasional gaps and not the norm.

What impressed us the most when we first met Dr. Chan was his ability to communicate clearly. This was a big deal to us, especially since he speaks English fluently, making it easy for him to accommodate foreign clients.

The clinic also runs an efficient appointment system, with minimal to almost no waiting time in some cases. During consultations, the specialist runs through each step of the treatment plan. Many patients we talked to found this really reassuring.

While not the cheapest option for certain procedures, we do appreciate the transparency in billing and insurance support. On top of that, they often offer complimentary items, like ear drops, when necessary.

There’s always a tendency to upsell services during consultations, but we love how that doesn’t happen here. Unless absolutely necessary, the specialist tends to recommend minimally invasive options, helping patients save their insurance coverage.

However, we felt that their front desk staff was a little dismissive during visits. Though we understand how exhaustive and busy they are, a little consideration will definitely improve things moving forward.

Dr. Ho Fung drew us in with his ability to deal with a wide range of ENT conditions. This makes him a great choice for routine issues like earwax, as well as more complex cases like sleep apnea and chronic sinusitis.

The quality of service can also be noted in his advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 

Additionally, post-consultation care is a strong factor – depending on the condition, clients may be provided with practical home-care instructions to keep the situation at bay.

In addition, he can also offer phone follow-ups for the client’s convenience. However, this may vary based on the condition, as certain conditions are usually fixed without constant updates in the treatment plan.

With a solid track record of successful results, we’re happy to note that there’s a large likelihood of improvement here in a short amount of time. In fact, one client told us that their ear infection was resolved in just one visit.

We just want to note a few inconsistencies in staff attitude. Some staff were friendly and warm, while others appeared to be more interested in their smartphones than in dealing with clients. We hope to see changes soon.
