Ace Your Proposal with the Best Engagement Rings in Hong Kong from These 5 Shops

  • Certifications: We chose shops that sell diamonds with trusted certificates, so you know they’re real and rated properly.
  • Diamond Quality: We looked for places that clearly explain the diamond’s cut, color, clarity, and size, so you can compare diamonds with confidence.
  • Variety and Customization: We looked for shops with lots of ring styles and the option to design your own if you want something more personal.
  • Customer Service: Friendly, helpful staff mattered to us. We valued shops that guide you without the pressure.
  • Pricing Transparency: We went for shops that are open about their prices, with no surprises and fair value for what you’re getting.

When my friend got engaged, he thought the hardest part would be planning the proposal. Turns out, choosing the right engagement ring for his partner was a whole journey of its own. That’s when he reached out to us—his friends—for advice.

It was a smart move, since we, his girl friends, had spent plenty of time daydreaming about the perfect engagement ring ourselves. We were more than happy to help him navigate the endless options.

And honestly, it’d be a waste not to share everything we learned from that experience. So here it is: our roundup of the best engagement ring shops in Hong Kong that we came across while helping him find “the one.”

How much do engagement rings cost in Hong Kong?

Engagement rings in Hong Kong usually go around HK$25,000 to HK$35,000 for lab-grown diamonds. Meanwhile, natural diamond rings usually start at HK$40,000 and can go well over HK$100,000 depending on size and brand.

1. Valentina Fine Jewellery

We love how custom everything is at Valentine Fine Jewellery. They don’t just sell rings, they help you create one from scratch.

The process starts with a consultation, often with Anastasia, who is the founder and a GIA-certified diamond expert. She really takes the time to understand your style, how you’ll wear the ring day to day, and what kind of budget you’re working with.

We really appreciate that you’re not just shown a few designs and asked to pick. You’re part of the whole creative journey.

Based on the past clients we’ve talked to, they get to approve a wax model of the ring before it’s made. It’s such a clever step that gives you a chance to actually see the shape and feel before anything is final.

The quality of diamonds and gems here also seems top-tier. Anastasia handpicks stones not just for their certification, but for how sparkly and well-cut they are in real life.

Design-wise, they’re known for their “Signature Curve” style. The style involves subtle curves, hidden birthstones, and colored side stones. You can customize pretty much everything.

That said, since the process is so tailored and time-intensive, they may not be the best fit for someone who just wants to make a quick decision or prefers a more traditional retail experience.

Pros

  • Custom experience
  • Hands-on, client-focused process
  • Wax model approval
  • Top-tier stones
  • Unique and signature designs

Cons

  • Time-intensive process
  • Non-traditional retail experience

The final product matches exactly what my fiancé and I had in mind

“Anastasia did such a great job with my engagement ring that we decided to get our wedding bands and couldn’t be happier. She executed my vision for the rings flawlessly, and the final product matches exactly what my fiancé and I had in mind. She also communicated with us throughout the whole process despite us being across the world in a different timezone. It was a pleasure working with her, and I hope to continue buying jewellery and gemstones from Valentina.”

Every detail was crafted with care and creativity

“I’m absolutely in love with the emerald ring I bought from Valentina Fine Jewellery. The design is truly one-of-a-kind, elegant and full of character. The emerald itself has the most stunning, rich green hue I’ve ever seen. You can tell every detail was crafted with care and creativity. Anastasia was a joy to communicate with and was very patient with my many questions! Wonderful service and beautiful designs. A truly special piece I’ll treasure forever!”

Every ring in Ryder Diamonds is handmade from scratch in their Hong Kong workshop. Not just designed, but actually built by a team of over 20 skilled jewellers. You don’t see that often, so we were really impressed.

What’s even cooler is that clients can visit the workshop and watch their ring being made. It’s a rare experience in the jewellery world and makes the whole thing feel super personal.

We also liked how involved you get to be throughout the process. The team, especially Sally, guides you through everything. She helps you understand what makes one diamond better than another and what details really matter.

A couple we spoke with mentioned that they received sketches, 3D images, and even videos during the ring-making process. We really appreciated this because it’s really like a creative collaboration.

If you have a specific idea in mind, they can make it happen. Or you can tweak a design from their signature collection.

Either way, the quality seems amazing. The past clients we talked to were blown away when they saw the final rings in person.

However, this isn’t a quick process. Since everything is handmade and tailored to your vision, you’ll need to allow a few weeks (or even a couple of months) from start to finish.

So if you’re planning a surprise proposal and you’re short on time, you might need to factor that in early.

Pros

  • Fully handmade craftsmanship
  • Workshop access
  • Collaborative process
  • Custom or semi-custom options
  • Impressive final results

Cons

  • Longer turnaround time
  • Not ideal for last-minute plans

They helped us create the perfect ring

“This team produces beautiful bespoke pieces of art. We went in with a concept, and they helped us create the perfect ring. Huge thanks to Sally for her talent and creativity, to Catalina for her ongoing communication throughout the process and to Meagan and The Sifu for pulling out all the stops to have the ring finished before we left Hong Kong. This team is amazing and talented. I highly recommend them!”

I will certainly be recommending Ryder Diamonds to everyone I know!

“Sally and the team at Ryder Diamonds are exceptional! From the initial point of contact and convenient forms of communication, we designed the perfect bespoke engagement ring for my fiancé. Living overseas and not having the knowledge in gemmology, Sally and her brilliant team were able to remove this stress and pressure to create absolute perfection. Sally was a recommendation to me, and I will certainly be recommending Ryder Diamonds to everyone I know!”

Business hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM
  • Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

Niya K offers a mix of natural and lab-grown diamonds, plus other gems. And because they source through Hong Kong (which has no diamond tax), prices are more reasonable than you might expect for a high-end custom piece.

We also loved how you really get to design something from scratch, from the diamond or gemstone, all the way through the final details.

The consultation process gets a lot of love from past clients, and it sounds like that’s where they shine.

If you’re new to things like cut, clarity, or carat weight, don’t worry. Nayati, the founder and designer, walks you through all of it in plain English.

When it comes to design, Niyati is super hands-on. She takes your ideas and turns them into sketches and digital mockups, so you get a clear vision of the ring before anything is made.

People mentioned how she really listens and nails the tiny details, like the exact height of a stone or the way the band curves. When we heard about it, we were very impressed because these are very specific, and yet she always got it.

We also liked that when the ring’s ready, it comes in a custom box with the diamond specs and metal info stamped inside. It’s a small touch, but it feels much more special.

You should keep in mind, though, that if you want a custom ring, it’s by appointment only. They may not be for those who want to pop in casually or compare lots of rings in one go.

Pros

  • Custom design
  • Wide range of stones
  • Supportive consultation process
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Visual previews before production
  • Thoughtful packaging

Cons

  • Appointment-only model

I trust her opinion and appreciate her patience working with me

“Niya is an absolute dream to work with! She has helped me with 8 pieces, and I’m sure there is more to come! I love the detailed workmanship to ensure every piece is perfect. I trust her opinion and appreciate her patience working with me. I’ve recommended many people to her and have never had a bad review! Thank you so much! Here is a picture of my most recent work with her, where I brought in a gem I purchased in Sri Lank,a and she helped me transform it into a beautiful ring!”

The craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional

“Niya created a stunning moi et toi ring featuring the birthstones of my two boys, and I could not be happier! This is my second piece from them; my first was a beautiful sapphire rainbow ring that I had made after the birth of my first son. I wanted to be able to wear both rings together, and they complement each other beautifully. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional, making each piece uniquely special. Thank you so much again, Niya!”

4. NS Luxury Jewellery

Address: 16樓 C-D室, HART AVENUE 8, 8號 Hart Ave, Tsim Sha Tsui
Phone: +852 6111 5636
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 11 AM – 8:30 PM
Website

We noticed that NS Luxury Jewellery’s prices are way more reasonable than what you’d find at big-name stores. Because they’re an upstairs shop, they save on rent and other costs, and pass those savings on to you.

But even with the lower prices, they’re still using top-quality diamonds, certified by the Gemological Institute ot America (GIA) or International Gemological Institute (IGI). It’s good to know you’re getting the real deal.

They make all their rings locally in their own workshop. This means you’re not getting something mass-produced. You’re getting a custom-made ring that’s built exactly how you want it.

We also liked how beginner-friendly they are. Buying an engagement ring can be super overwhelming, but the staff here are patient and helpful.

They walk you through the basics and help you understand what makes one diamond different from another. A few of the people we’ve talked to mentioned how nervous they were before visiting, but left feeling well-informed.

That said, the showroom isn’t flashy or luxurious like a big retail store. So if you’re expecting a fancy shop, this place might feel a bit more practical.

Pros

  • Great value for money
  • Certified, high-quality diamonds
  • Custom-made rings
  • Beginner-friendly and educational
  • Helpful staff

Cons

  • Less fancy shop

The clerk was very professional, careful and patient

“The store experience was very good. The clerk was very professional, careful and patient, and answered our different questions. There are so many jewelry styles, and in the end, I bought the earrings I liked. Everyone is welcome to come and buy!”

5. DIABOND

Address: Shop B211b B2, Times Square, 1 Matheson St, Causeway Bay
Phone: +852 2881 0186
Business hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 12 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Friday to Saturday: 12 PM – 9 PM
  • Sunday: 12 PM – 8:30 PM

Website

It really stood out to us that DIABOND only use lab-grown diamonds. They’re chemically and visually the same as mined diamonds without the environmental impact or ethical concerns. If you’re someone who tries to shop more sustainably, they’re a great choice.

Their ring designs are also not what you’d typically find in Hong Kong. Instead of going for the bold and super flashy look, they lean into a Japanese design style—minimal, nature-inspired, and very refined.

We loved the delicate touches in designs like the “ajisai” and “asagao.” They feel romantic without being over the top.

Customization is a big plus here. You can choose from different metals like platinum, yellow gold, white gold, and more. They’ll also help guide you through all the little details, from diamond cut to setting.

We didn’t go through the full design process ourselves, but from what their customers have said, the staff are really good at listening and helping you create something personal.

When it comes to pricing, it’s surprisingly reasonable. Since lab-grown diamonds cost less than mined ones, you can get a beautiful ring without blowing your entire budget.

If we had to point out a few things to keep in mind, it’s not a huge collection. So if you want to try on dozens of different styles, you might feel a little limited.

Pros

  • Ethical and sustainable diamonds
  • Unique design aesthetic
  • Beautiful, romantic details
  • Customizable options
  • Helpful staff

Cons

  • Limited collection
  • Style might not suit everyone

The whole shopping experience is great

“Joan Buk welcomed me with a big smile and proactively asked me if I needed anything. The whole shopping experience is great, she recommended a few types of rings for trying that match my expectations. I will come back again in the future.”
